ESPN coverage of the game was pure horse sh@t with the 3 screens and FAT announcers over hyping a game that didn't require the hype. ESPN su@ks and had fallen so far in the race to be relative.
You were watching the wrong channel :lmao:

Eh, Carp on a pogo stick. It's bad in Alabama. I've heard a few gunshots and I smell fire from the "Alabama Victory Party" that was a few doors down.

After the ridiculous grandstanding and chest thumping and laughing at Clemson I've heard all week....oh my...I don't want to go into work. Especially how everyone looks down at me as a pathetic Auburn fan, who is not even relevant.

It is the strongest conference from top to bottom most years.........b/c most of the elite football talent in this country is in the southeast. Clemson built their team in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. You have to recruit the Southeast well to have a shot. Urban Myer knew it too.
Yeah.
Im not an SEC fan, but they clearly have the best conference.
They've had several different teams win titles. Its not just Bama.

Yeah, my social media is full of threats of violence against corrupt officiating and threats against Auburn fans, for whatever reason that they're guilty tonight.

Don't think they want to see Lawrence and Clemson next season. That passing game should be a lot better next season.

Alabama had to replace all 6 of their starting DB's and defensive coaching staff from last year. College football is year to year b/c of graduation, attrition to NFL, and recruiting. Alabama beat Clemson just last year 24-6 in the semifinal just to give you an idea of how things can turn around in a year.

And an angle rarely discussed.................Clemson has had the advantage of coaching continuity. Dabo's assistants like DC Venables and his OC (forget the name) have been with him a long time while Saban is basically replacing his OC and DC every year. It takes a toll. Sure they still won 14 games but the coaching staff got exposed when talent on the field was equal.........or in this case superior. Alabama , again, has a #1 ranked recruiting class coming in. So, its likely the pendulum will swing again, if Saban can get his staff issues settled.

The SEC has 1 team that's won a title since Auburn in 2010. So basically a decade.
That's Bama, who also hasn't went undefeated since 2009 despite a rep as never losing a game all decade.

The SEC is likely the strongest conference based on having 14 teams in a football crazy part of the country but they are also by far the most overrated league.
BUT.. they are not heads and tails better.
Not even close to perception.

Bowl records --keep in mind the SEC controls where their teams go and who they face in all non-BCS Bowl games.

Big 12: 4-3 (.571)
Big Ten: 5-4 (.556)
ACC: 6-5 (.545)
SEC: 6-6 (.500)
Pac-12: 3-4 (.429)

Hard to argue Clemson isn't the best college football team right now but that the ACC has a lot of mediocre teams after them.
Bama is a 5 star laden program with talent galore that can win on any given day and Georgia is rising to be a consistent top 10 team.
LSU is good but the offense never lets them be great.
OSU is elite if dramatic and PSU and Mich are entering that consistent top tier.
OU is elite and UT looks to be building but has false started and been underachieving for a dozen years.
The Pac 72 is watered down with everybody recruiting California and only Washington emerging as a yearly power.

End of the day until you build a true playoffs of 6 to 8 teams, it is still a goofy system of who we "think" is best or what 1 loss teams deserve it most.

Basically then you’re saying Clemson out coached Alabama?

I don’t recall Alabama’s lack of coaching continuity being an issue on the way to a 14-0 record.

Interesting how it’s come up now after a convincing loss? Kinda sounds like excuses for getting their butts whipped.

This time yesterday half the college football fandom was telling us Bama was better than then the New York Jets.
No one is throwing a pity party for Saban who makes more per year than most entire college football staffs and has the largest support staff in the sport.
