That sucked - but I've never seen a game like that one. Lots of missed opportunities. When Paul went down, the Spurs should have just put their foot on the gas. When he came back, CP went into superstar mode. The only thing I'm mad at is that it was a 1st round game, and not a WCF. I can see Manu hanging it up, but Timmy is just in beastmode. Disappointed in Kawhi in games 6-7. Will be an interesting offseason. Go Dubs.

Additionally, and I'm not saying it's why they lost, that time clock error at the end of the game killed the Spurs. There should have been an official timeout to let the teams redraw. Terrible mistake that can't happen. Screwed the Spurs.

In a series ultimately separated by two points, spurs supporters have a right to analyze every error as being a critical one. But you have to give credit to the clippers, they played, hard, were well coached, and fully earned this win. Its going to be great seeing two different jerseys in the finals this year.
I'm personally pulling for a Bullets vs Warriors finals (yes I said bullets)

Well there will now be a new champion. I am in a down state right now. I am very disappointed with how this series went. IMO, the Spurs gave it away with poor FT shooting and even poorer defense rebounding. As much as I hate to say it, I have to give the Clippers credit. They didn't back down, no matter the obstacle. They answered every challenge the Spurs put in front of them. So my basketball season is over.

I hope it is the Hawks and Warriors in the Finals....with the Hawks winning.....Go Coach Bud and Go Hawks.

Time to get ready for the draft.......

The Hawks were exposed by the Nets IMO... when your second most creative person on the court is a back up pg, and your third is an average, defensive minded forward, that doesn't bode well for your long tern success. The Hawk are very much a jump shooting team, and not a creative one at that. They will struggle with the Bullets... it will be a very good series.

Absolutely. And I'm not going to be on a soapbox about it. It was just a critical third party mistake that was huge in the situation.

That said, Paul had one of the best performances I've seen. Redick and Barnes were great last night, and Griffin is a superstar

the Spurs had one more timeout.....they should have used it

still Tiago Jordan killed us going 6-19 from the FT line in the series. Danny was a no show offensively in games 4-6. Mills has been on fire, but hardly saw the court yesterday. Parker played hurt all series, and was not as effective, especially on the fast break...he should have deferred more, as opposed to forcing his own offense.

what upset me the most yesterday was our transition offense. We were horrible at it, but instead of slowing down and running offense in the half court, and ours was pretty good yesterday, we forced the transition and failed to score almost every time......to compound the negative, the Clippers would race down and score more often than not.

Barnes and Griff were in foul trouble early and the Spurs refused to go at them to get them on the bench. Paul was playing on 1 leg, and instead of pressing him and forcing him to play defense, we kind of let him do his thing. This is where I wish we still had a Bruce Bowen type on the team. He would have made Paul earn every single thing he got......none of those wide open shots.

it was a close series, we lost the final game by 2 points. we were the defending champs, bringing the roster back. we had the defensive player of the year. they have owned the clippers and chris paul in the playoffs. don't act like you would not have been certain or had great confidence if your team had that in their favor.

I did mean what I posted about the Spurs/Clippers series and about wanting Warriors v Hawks from here on out.

Well, at least the NBA won't have to worry about Hack-a-Howard now......but, it would be funny to see what would happen if both teams used the strategy. I am curious to see who would be better, Jordan or Howard.

Also, the refs will have their hands full with the whining, flailing, and flopping. Paul and Harden are going to be shooting lots of FTs I am sure. Jordan/Griffin vs Howard should be interesting......with lots of over the back, illegal shoving, physical play, whining and crying.

The Clippers don't have a bench, but the Rockets aren't that deep either. I see a lot of transition baskets in this series from both teams. If they are able to make their open shots, the average score should be between 110 and 115 for both teams.

IMO, Washington is close, but they do need a few pieces. They need a young/athletic G/F (Pierce won't be around forever, neither will Butler), a young athletic combo F (a more athletic Boris Diaw), a young, defensive-minded F/C (one of those bigs from Kentucky)

Washington is still towards the bottom in terms of talent depth of teams left in the playoffs. But in my opinion, I would rather see the brand of ball they play than any team in the east.... save Chicago, if they ever get their chemistry together. The amount of carless plays they make for a veteran team, with their kind of passing skills is amazing. Not to mention the inconsistent outside shooting.

edit: kinda disrespecting otto porter as well (butler isn't even in the rotation :/ )
