Who is taking who?

Being a kid in the 80's it's weird to see Philly, Lakers, Celtics being at the top of the draft. I know Boston got their pick based on a trade, but still weird to see. Those were great franchises during that time.

Simmons or Ingram... that is actually a legit argument now....

Is Jamal Murrary a better offensive version of Eric Gordon, or a true combo that can play point?

Is Dragan Bender worth the risk?

Is this a week draft class?

Who's your sleeper (DeAndre Bembry from St. Joes for me, can't forget Ben Benti)

Lots of talk that the Sixers are going to take Simmons. I am actually wondering if the Lakers might consider trading down? There are three teams in this years draft with three first round picks so any of those teams could move up. I actually wonder if Boston might try and trade up? They have a lot of talent already so I don't know if all three first round picks would help them much? They might feel like a Simmons or Ingram might be more valuable. This could get interesting.

The Sixers aren't locked in yet... at least from everything that I've read...(and that's wise if you ask me)
But LAL... should NOT TRADE DOWN!!! There's are only two stars in this draft.. maybe 3 or 4 (Murray/Dunn or Bender?)
But this is THE shot for the LA to get a franchise player and this draft isn't as deep as the last few... not to mention they are probably losing their pick next year... Ingram/Simmons or bust for LAL imo...

But I do expect Philly (after their pick 1), and Boston to Wheel and Deal...

If they pull the trigger on a trade, that would allow them to bring in even more quality depth. That could help them down the road but it not get them a Franchise player, as you say. It would have to be a block buster deal, like 3 first round picks from one of the three teams who have three in the first round. They really need a Center so I think that's a possibility but who knows if any team would offer that. The team that really has the best chance to pull off a trade with the Lakers is actually Philly IMO. They have Okafor and he is a ligit, young Center prospect. If Philly traded Okafor, which they are eventually going to have to do, the longer they wait the less he is worth IMO, and they give the Lakers back their 1st round pick next year, they could come out of this draft with Simmons, Ingram and two more first to work with. The Lakers would get their coveted Center to go with Clarkson, Williams and Randle and a shot at Durant if he decides to leave OKC.

IMO, that trade might work well for both teams.

Superstars are so hard to come by, I just can't see them pulling the trigger, those first two players are special. Also, now that they have Luke as the coach they want to play faster, Okafor would conflict with that (not to mention he's an absolutely horrible defender).... I think the wise thing is to go for a star over trading for role players... they can attract another star if simmons or ingram live up.... they very well may get one this year or next (outside shot of course/Durant)....

I don't think NBA draft picks, especially outside of the lottery, are worth much in a trade. Teams are rarely built through the draft, unless you hit on star. They earned the #2 pick. Take Ingram/Simmons, and don't get cute.

I don't know Ron. Walton played with O'Neill and Gasol Laker teams. He knows what traditional Post Offense can do. I think it's reasonable to assume they want to play up tempo but that doesn't necessarily mean no strong post Offense. He is a good passer, he's decent cutting to the basket, he can make the mid range shot and he can finish. Can't argue with the Defense though.

I think there are more then just two potential Super Stars in this draft. This kid Jaylon Brown from Cal is really interesting. He's really explosive. He can be a lot better with some better coaching. He's not a good 3pt shooter but he's a decent jump shooter. He's also a decent defender with a lot of upside. He might turn into something special.

I hate his game (JB)....lol... reminds me of MKG or Winston Justice.. but not as smart... but I could be wrong, I've only watched him play 4, maybe 5 times. I saw Murrary destroy team USA former nba vets in the pan am games, and shoot lights out at UK... We all know buddy's story... maybe a few more with potential.. but I think only 2 possible super stars exist in this draft.. and they are at the top...

But hey, Ill take the no.2 for Oak :D

I know you would and if you give back the 1st next year, I might consider that trade. For the Lakers, I think it all hinges on if they can get Durant. If they could ink him, that would make the trade work IMO. If they can't, then they have to go get one of the two young potential Super Stars IMO.
