Tonight...sadly for the NBA the offseason is creating more buzz than at any point during the regular season.

Anywho...we know the 1-2 in the draft, but who do you think is the 3rd best player in this draft?

Myself...I like Corey Brewer and if my beloved Sixers could swing a deal to send the 12 and 21 to Mil for the 6 and get him I would be very happy.

...I am rambling now...

Draft thread...boo yaw...add something of interest immediately.:)

Who is the 3rd best player or who will be taken 3rd? Sometimes, there not the same.

I have to say Al Horford is the consensus #3 overall pick in this draft. Whether or not Atlanta will take another PF, who knows, but they should draft him here. But it would be funny to see them pass on Horford and draft Conley, after years of passing on PGs like Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

So many players got hurt this season and the Eastern Conference as a whole was absolutely terrible, making the NBA Finals one of the most anticlimactic championships in recent memory.

I agree on Horford and I hope Atl does pass on him. However knowing my Grizzlies they will do something stupid like take Sideshow Bob over Horford.

The rumor is that our new GM wants Brewer.

My personal choice for the 4th pick would be Horford, Conley, Brewer or Wright.....in that order.

Third pick could be the kid from China, Yi Jianlian. I too like Horford but Brandon Wright out of UNC and somebody nobodies talking about is Green from Georgetown. IMO, the best player on that team was Green. Be interesting to see how it works out.

August 2004 - The Mavs trade Christian Laettner, Eduardo Najera, two future first-round draft picks and the draft rights to guards Luis Flores and Mladen Sekularac to the Warriors for Erick Dampier, Dan Dickau, Evan Eschmeyer and the draft rights to Steve Logan.

February 2005 - The Warriors trade Eduardo Najera, Luis Flores and a future first round draft pick (from Dallas in 2007) to the Nuggets for Rodney White and Nikoloz Tskitishvili.

December 2006 - The Nuggets trade Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round picks (one Denver, one Dallas) to the Sixers for Allen Iverson and Ivan McFarlin.

Horford is probably the guy they will take, the GM likes HOrford, but their management wants Yi for his commercial appeal in the Asian community. I can't argue if they take either guy, but Conley makes the most sense. They just drafted Shelden Williams, Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, as PF types. If I were them I would go with Conley and then take either Noah or Hawes at 11.

Noah is going be a huge bust. Other than being tall he has no skills.

I like Green too...very versatile guy. Good passer. I think Julian Wright is in that vein as well...they have Boris Diaw like abilities.

I just like Brewer the best behind the big 2. He is an absolute lockdown defender...something that is becoming rarer and rarer. Also, whenever FLA needed a big shot he seemed to be the guy to take it. I like that in a player...Acie Law does the same thing.

I like Horford alot, but to me he is more of a Horace Grant type. Brewer has been compared to Pippen and I can really see him developing like that.

Good defender, good rebounder, always hustles...do I think he is going to be a superstar? No, but he could eventually become like a Camby type player.

I don't see it and will be ticked off if the Griz draft him. He'll get thrown around like a rag doll in the NBA.

So is Joakim Noah "Sideshow Bob?" I've heard you say that a couple times, but didn't know who you were talking about...

Look around the league...it is going leaner and more athletic. Bulky guys like Shaq and Ben Wallace are not the norm anymore.

If the Griz pass on Brewer or Conley to take Noah you have every right to throw a tantrum.

I don't know about this. I think that if you can find a guy with the size and skills of shaq, he'll do well. Seems like a lot of the older big men are slowing down while a lot of the younger big men are coming up. In time, they mature and grow into there size. It runs in cycles IMO.

OK...tell me who these young big men that are bulky are? Where is the guy that has Shaq's size?

Isn't that kind of a trick question? How many people have Shaq's combination of size and speed (well, in his prime)?

There is a lack of big in bulk/height guys. I guess Eddy Curry, possibly Bynum down the road, but there just are not those types anymore. Even Oden...when he fills out he will not be a bruiser type.
