Figures. That remains my main issue with the NFL ordeal.

Funny how things were able to move along once Kessler was cut out of the majority of "secret" negotiations in both deals. Coincidence? I think not.

Yeah they were really moving along well before Kessler got involved

This is the exact kind of crap that started all the angst in the NFL lockout. People spouting as if they know things that they don't. I don't know what caused the NBA deal to come about, but I doubt you do either. Kessler was only involved in the past 2-3 weeks, so you can hardly pin it on him like you're trying to do.

Go Rockets! :eek::

I think the Rockets are in a good place.

They have some some talent and some salary space to add more.

And now it's going to be much more difficult for the affluent teams in the league to dominate free agency.

Not a fan of the coach, but we'll see.

They've got a couple pieces, but they need a go-to guy, someone who can take over when they need it. All the players they have are good, but average.

I'm always hopeful for the #8 seed. :)

It will be more difficult initially, but the players have even more freedom to move about with this deal. Ultimately the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer without a hard cap.

They also need to contract the regular season. 82 games waters down the product. They'll learn that even more over the course of the next deal if they didn't already.

Go Spurs Go

I think the Spurs are another team who's going to benefit from the agreement because they have the uncanny knack of finding undervalued talent.

Excited. A 66-game season is a lot better than 82. Games will be meaningful the whole way this year.

Great news, but also shocking news. I really thought it would be a whole year before we'd get to see basketball again. Go Lakers let's get that trophy back!!!!!

I don't think they need honestly. They did win two championships without him. The key is simply staying healthy and Gasol showing up.

I don't think they did. Still waiting for all the details, but there is no hard cap. Stern secretly didn't want a hard cap either. Keeps his ratings cash cows Lakers, Heat, Mavs, Celtics with the ability to spend.

the mavs arent a rating cash cow, i think you meant to put the knicks in there instead

Don't know why that made you lol. He's still a great player and had a great regular season. He must of been injured or something because he just wasn't himself. He was spectacular in 2009 and 2010. If he plays like he did then the Lakers have an excellent shot to rebound and win a championship.

I think it was mental. There was something really, really wrong. I know there were rumors about something going on with his girlfiend.

I forgot to add NY. The Mavs/Heat final had HUGE ratings. I know a lot of it had to do with people wanting Miami to lose, but I'm sure Dallas and Dirk gained some fans from that series.

Of course they don't NEED to trade for him, they've obviously won two without him, but they should. Bynum for Howard and I see winning at least two more championships in the next three years. After Kobe retires Howard would take over as the face of the franchise. I don't see that happening with Bynum, as mush as Jim Buss wants it.

They definitely gained me as a fan, for that series, as I wanted them to beat Miami. As for long-term fans? I don't think many.
