NBA Offseason Thread

Boston in the mix for Dame apparently.

Im very meh on that. Looks good on paper and all, but when he returns what type of play can you expect from a PG in his mid 30's coming off an achilles tear?

It would he one thing if he was a 20-25 minute microwave. But if you ask him to be a 32 minute player on a contender, when does he become a liability?

Dame cut….damn. One of my favorite players..
They are stretching his deal out to sign Turner. 22m a year over the next 5 years. Crazy bad move. They are doing it just to keep Giannis from bolting, and it might not even work. Just goes to show how much NBA teams will do to cling to their franchise players. Especially markets like Milwaukee

Even if they were healthy, once they played the top 4 that backcourt was always going to break their back.

They may not necessarily have to break up Mitchell/Garland, but they at least need a high level defender in that backcourt to stagger them
I just think they choked…Pacers defense sucks and ended up in the Finals.

Apparently he wanted Turner but not at the expense of Dame. I don’t think that’s enough to keep him and he’s not worth eating Dames cap hit even if spread out.

Spreading it out cripples them for the next 5 years. 22 million per year to not be any better than they were. Right now Turner and Lopez is a wash, Turner is just much younger

They arent built for the playoffs. They were getting ragdolled last year by Boston even before Mitchell went down. Cleveland as they are currently are the definitive paper tiger
They got rolled up by anyone with a winning record it seemed. East is so weak though it’s tough to eliminate them from contention. They need Mobley to be the superstar he is projected to be. I think Mitchell needs to be option 2 and they’ve been trying to trade Garland so I don’t even know if he’s even worth keeping though it sucks they let Ty Jerome go.

Honestly the whole league is weak. People though the West was strong in 2024 and WC champs got destroyed in the Finals. This year a 68 win WC team struggled in the finals with a 50 win EC. Its not just the East, the league as a whole is lacking with top tier teams. You put any team in the NBA today in a series against the pre Durant Warrior and it goes 5 games max IMO

Yeah but I can’t do that. I can’t say OKC is weak because Pacers played over their heads.:

It was they won a ring lol. They lost to the Mavs last year it happens. Thru were a great team. Pacers had a great run.
Not when you are talking West Vs.East. People overrate the West. The East isnt good, but the West is not nearly as far ahead as some think. The performances in the last two Finals show that

The West has superior talent it’s evident every year. Just because the Pacers played well in the Finals doesn’t mean the talent is close. Boston was a great team but they don’t represent the whole east. They were 1/1.
