Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick are getting the band back together again.
NBC announced today that Patrick will join Olbermann on NBC's Football Night in America this fall, reuniting the classic 1990s paring from ESPN's SportsCenter.

Patrick and Olbermann will work alongside host Bob Costas, Cris Collinsworth, Tiki Barber, Jerome Bettis and Peter King on the football show.

Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Sports and Olympics, said Patrick will contribute to Football Night, to the Super Bowl when NBC has the Super Bowl and to Olympics coverage beginning with the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

I cant stand Olberdung...he's absolutely one of the worst personalities on TV/Radio. I really cant understand why Patrick keeps bringing him around.

Hopefully they can keep him to stick to sports.

Oh great more Olberboring on Sunday nights. Seriously they could team that guy with a pillow and the pillow would be more engaging now.

Football night in America stinks anyways. I turn to ESPNEWS or NFL network to get a breakdown on the action.

I like Dan Patrick.

I still think they are overloading Costas. He is the best and doesn't need all of this to host a good show. It would be better with some former players and/or coaches.

When they hired Olbergoof last year I decided I wasn't going to watch it. Never once tuned into it. Can't stand the dope and will never watch anything he is on. I watch the ESPN show and then pause it (I have TIVO) when the half time report comes on then go back to the game when it's over.

The guy is simply awful.

and he wastes people's time by insterting his own b/s political agenda into virtually every segment he come on...when I listed to Patrick's show on ESPN Radio that last hour was unbearable as Patrick would start off talking sports and Olberdung seemingly always only wanted to talk about his quip with Bill O'Reilly, and then spend the rest of the segment taking shots at him.

And on your comments above, his "great speaking voice" is about the only one thats true

That's waaaay too many faces on that show. Just leave Costas, Collinsworth and Peter King and replace The Bus and the The Bitter(Tiki) with a former player with better insight.

David, did you not notice that the moderators removed your previous anti-liberal comments? This is not the place for your personal agenda. Go to google groups if you want to do that.

Dude, seriously, dont comment on other people's articulation when you write like this:

"every segment he come on"
"when I listed to Patrick's show"

I dont like being a spelling and grammar cop, thats annoying, but if youre gonna say someone isnt articulate, go back and check your writing first.

There was nothing unacceptable about the post you quoted.

Sports is not the place for political agendas--and that's what Olberman brings. He would rather talk about politics or himself than sports. Aren't we entitled to dislike that?
