I never watched him on there so cant comment...but I did listen to Patrick almost everyday on ESPN radio and it was rare that Olberman came on w/o doing his political mess

The ESPN role is more or less an entertainer role the Sunday Night Football role is more or less an anchor role. Outside of the "World's Worst Person in the NFL" bit, there's nothing wrong or overly bad about Olbermann hosting Sunday Night Football. Unless NBC makes changes, I wouldn't worry about him talking about politics.

Like I said, what dbair said was fine. He didn't discuss the man's politics. He said he didn't like how Olbermann would insert political commentary into his sports commentary. So his second post was an acceptable response.

You suggest I leave it alone? Your explanation above leaves out what he said and what I pointed out to you that he said namely that Oblermans political agenda was b/s. He didnt say it was b/s that he had a political agenda he said the agenda itself was b/s, theres a big difference.

dbair's articulation is only relevant if we're talking about him hosting a tv sports show. Which we aren't. So it's not.

Olberman is an overbearing know-it-all who's in love with the sound of his own opinions. We get enough of that on this board. This has absolutely nothing to do with his politics; he's just not a good sports commentator. It's a shame, too, because he is a very intelligent guy and is perfectly capable of contributing relevant commentary if he can just bring himself to do it.

it is relevant. I called Olberman articulate, dbair said he was not articulate but in doing so butchered the english language. While it is obnoxious to be a grammar cop in general it is very relevant to point out to people when they make an unqualified opinion and to butcher english while calling someone else inarticulate is a valid point to make.

And I understand your point that Olbermann is overbearing and as you say this has nothing to do with politics. My comments have been directly pointed towards dbair who has made two blatanlty partisan politcal comments in this thread.

There are about 20 posts here thrashing Olbermann, I only have a problem with your two posts calling Olbermanns politics bs, not claling him or his tactics bs but calling his politics bs. I dont have a problem with him being called pompous or arrogant or people saying they hate him or objecting to him injecting things into what should only be a sports show. I only have a problem with you stating your partisan opinions here. Only you have done that on this thread. Everyone else, even the guy who equated Oblermann with excrement have played by the rules and left thier partisan opinions out of their comments. You havent. I never minded Olberman on Sportscenter. On the NBC show, I just thought he tried too hard to be an opinionated hardass and came off as loud. I guess I don't concentrate enough on politics to notice that stuff.

Hate to pull out the mod card, but yes, you need to leave it alone. It's done. None of the mods have a problem with what he said in his second response. You don't agree. You've stated your objection several times and the more you talk about it, the more this thread slants towards politics. You have a problem with it, take it to PM or go to the political zone where political talk is free reign.

You probably didn't. Sometimes when posts get political we simply delete all evidence. That could include your post since it had the post that was political quoted inside it.

If there was something really wrong, we would have sent a PM. Nothing to worry about.
