I'll take that bet...I think the Rose Bowl is going to be the best game of the bowl season.

While I'm no Florida fan, the system used says Florida played THE most difficult schedule of any college football team...on TV they said The most difficult schedule...go figure.

I think Florida will give Ohio State a very good game...they have the athletes.
If I'm Florida I'm making sure a certain back judge doesn't work this Ohio State championship game.

They announced it right when the BCS show was starting too, I laughed my *** off.

But everyone knew anyway, the news was leaked hours before by the LA times.

So...I guess that means that the #2 team in all the land got there even though it lost to an Auburn Tigers team that in turn lost to an UNRANKED Georgia Bulldogs squad...thereby taking Auburn (with its TWO losses) out of BCS contention. A #2 that barely scraped by an unranked Vanderbilt Commodores team. A #2 that was ranked as low as ninth in the polls earlier in the season.

Meanwhile, Michigan loses by a handful to the undefeated and undisputed top team in the nation in Ohio Stadium for its only loss. Go figure.

Any wonder why people drop a letter from the BCS when making reference to it?

For all the piling on of ND by dumb gomers here is the SOS as it stands now:

http://www.sportsquant.com/cbfsos120206.htm ND SOS was #35.

Michigan had a weaker schedule, as did OSU. Wisconsin had a SOS of 96.

Meanwhile Arkansas had the toughest schedule in the Nation. Followed by Florida.

Just thought I would add a few FACTS to counter all the biased stupidity in this thread.

I'm sorry but using some obscure website's BS SOS rankings and claiming they're "FACTS" doesn't bolster your argument.

Most experts agree that the most difficult schedule in the nation this year was actually Penn State. They played 3 BCS teams and a 4th that finished 7th in the BCS but was denied a BCS game due to the two per conference rule.

The reason that Michigan isn't going to the mythical national championship game is that certain Harris voters tried successfully to game the system. They dropped Michigan to #4 to purposely drop them behind Florida.

I agree on the Michigan situation you brought up.

I think the BCS computer difference was around 1 1000th of a point or something along those lines.

However one also could make a good argument that a team should have to win it's own conference before it goes to a title game. Not saying I agree with that but it is a good argument.

I don't know who deserves to play for the MNC, but I do know that a playoff would solve all these problems.

You would get no argument from me on that point.

All other levels of football have a playoff format except for this one.

I guess money talks. However I would think they could make even more money with a playoff system.

What they may lose in some revenue at ticket sales they would make up, or possibly exceed, in TV advertisements and TV contracts.

Here is a fact for you, the #7 and #9 teams in the standings arent going to a BCS game while an ELEVENTH ranked ND team that has gotten blown out of the water in both meaningful games they played gets a BCS game. The BS is a bunch of crap.

Maybe ND deserves it more this year than other years.

Big Deal...they always get a good bowl game and they do not always deserve it.

I could be failing in memory but I think I recall they were offered one and they actually turned it down because even they did not think they deserved it.

Oh well, I am not going to go on and on because one ND lover is getting crazy and the ND hater (no not me, but I do hate them lol) is getting crazy as well.

Later.

They turned it down because the payout was so small it wouldn't have covered their expenses.

It is fact that two teams in the top 10 deserve a BCS bowl more than a team out of the top 10. What is the point of the rankings if teams out side the top 10 get BCS bowls?
