NCAA men's basketball thread

Would not be shocked if he starts looking at NBA gigs again.

If he goes undefeated (which would of course mean a title)...he might decide to start flirting with the NBA again.

Yeah you gotta wonder if its that different from what he's currently doing - since he now coaches players who are going pro after 1-2 seasons.

It would be all together different!
It's not about the X's and O's, it's about the Jimmy's and Joe's.
Yes, he is a good coach, .. a great coach, but let's face it, .. he get's the best players every year.
That won't happen in the NBA.

I think Kentucky is very unbeatable.

I agree.

That's not to say that they can't lose, or that they will definitely win the tournament.

But to say that they are 'very beatable' insinuates that there are a few, or even several teams that could beat them.

I just don't think that is true.

I think Kentucky is very unbeatable. Unless you talking about a NBA team playing them. They are not just the best team, they are the best team by a long shot.

Didn't look like it last night and to be honest, they should have lost last night IMO. Doesn't matter, they pulled it out and that's to their credit but they are definitely very beatable. Just a question of if they meet the right kind of team IMO.

Wow, that South Carolina vs. Florida St women's game was AWESOME!

No kidding.

Can anyone enlighten me on what those guys affiliation with Duke is? I know that they have attended their games, but why?

Romo gets training from Duke Coach David Cutcliff every summer (as does P Manning).
Garrent is a friend with both Coach Cutcliff and Coach K

Yes, as a UNC grad, but a big Romo fan, this tears me up.

The main goal always for Garrett though, is to observe practices and technigues of some the best teacher/coaches.
He's always trying to get new ideas.
Romo studies the game from a coaching perspective and is interested too...plus they both are hoops fans.

For example, one of the best "teacher/coaches" in basketball history is Larry Brown. They also attend some SMU practices and games.

They've visited the Mavs a few times and Coach Carlisle and Garrett have a relationship.
I think Carlisle has also visited the Spurs.
Saban at Alabama too.

If dean Smith was alive and coaching, you can be certain they would attend Carolina practices...as he even top Larry Brown as a pure teacher with beautifully orchestrated practices, etc. (Coach K and Bob Knight both said said Smith was the best teacher they ever knew).

Duke is playing well at the right time, .. better than I thought they would.

Wisconsin can beat them. What makes UK so tough if their defense, & their length, they are not a great shooting team. Once they played the pick & roll better, and forced Grant to be a jump shooter in the ND game, it was theirs..... Wisconsin definitely has a shot... but having a shot, and making a shot are two different things.

I think the Duke thing actually goes back further. I think the Duke thing actually goes back to Parcells. Parcells was a coach at Army, when Krzyzewski was a player there. I think it started there. Parcells and Krzyzewski both new each other and that was what lead to the Garrett/Romo thing.

The Mighty Cats fall... poor coaching by Calipari late. Did not take advantage of a tired Badgers team, tried to run clock on a slim lead... just led to a bunch of bad Harrison twin shots.... hats off to the Badgers... beat the Dookie Balls please.

This makes me so happy. I know a lot of other people also. My bracket is officially dead but I'm more than fine with that. Don't care who wins Monday either.
