NCAA men's basketball thread

makes me happy that a good old fashioned type team like wisconsin got it done.

Can't say I'm surprised. I picked Wisconsin to win the national championship. Kentucky was way overrated and cruised through a pathetic conference. They have 3 losses if they played in the ACC or Big 10 (ironically, those 3 losses probably would have been quite good for them).

However, I am starting to get nervous about the heroes' welcome Wisconsin got last night and this morning. Everyone is acting like they've just beaten the unbeatable foe and their work is done. Their next opponent is a better team than the one they just beat.

ESPN has done nothing but kiss their collective ***** over the past 12 hours. It's all:

Wisconsin-Wisconsin-Wisconsin!!!!!!!! (oh by the way Duke beat Michigan State)

It makes no sense. University of Maryland College Park beat Wisconsin. Handily.

University of Maryland College Park lost to a less than fully funded West Virginia team with an ape for a coach.

Kentucky beats West Virginia by 39 pts.

Yet Kentucky loses to Wisconsin?

This game must have been thrown.

Obviously, you're kidding...right?

I mean, in the history of the game, when did logic like that ever work? In fact, it's well known you can't apply it that way.
Otherwise, Chaminade, Akron, or Western Carolina would be NCAA champs every other year.
So, to give credit, I'll assume you were, in fact, kidding.

It works in football too:

Temple beat East Carolina.
East Carolina beat Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech beat Ohio State
Ohio State beat everyone else

So Temple is the true National Football Playoffs Champion :D

These basket ball courts on a fb field seem dangerous to me with that big drop on the edge. You couldnt dive after a ball going out of bounds in certain areas it seems to me. Random thought yesterday

Vandy Court has been like that since the 80's I always wondered about that...

Just curious what you see that makes you think Huggins is an ape?

Also, what team do you cheer for?

its called a team effort- something not seen very much anymore. A team of very good players can beat a group of better players who frankly are not a real team.
