When he was a high school coach he carried a padle to to whip kinds for punishment which was legal then

That's pretty cool. I like him as a person but not much as a coach.

I can't hate on the guy. Of course anyone would want to take a head coaching position in the NFL if offered. He was just destined to fail with the GM that he took the job under.

it's much easier to intimidate 16-18 yr old kids than grown men

Every coach had a paddle back then, it wasn't about intimidation, it was about discpline and accountability.

He used the paddle to serve cupcakes when they were hot coming out of the oven.

I remember our old high school b-ball coach got in trouble for having this paddle that one of the students made for him in wood shop.

He used to come on the court during practice and tap it on the floor if the boys were getting out of hand.

And yes, he used it when necessary.

Thats how I feel. I think he is a realy good guy, but I do not think he has what it takes to be a head coach.

I was going to say that the paddle was made out of foam, but I like this better. :laugh2:

What's up with the hatred of Wade as coach?

Checking facts:
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/

- Wade is #35 all-time in win % (.589)
- Only Belichick and Andy Reid have a higher win % among active coaches
- Tim Landry? .607 (#28)
- Shanahan? .598 (#31)
- Parcells? .570 (#42)
- Jimmy Johnson? .556 (#52)
- Jeff Fisher? .542 (#60)
- Gruden? .540 (#64)

I'd at least wait for a losing season before calling for Wade's head.

Out where?

The words "Wade" and "best" don't go together unless were talking food eating competitions.

What would it take for you to feel he was qualified for the job?

Some of you kill me with the Wade hate. You'd bring a guy in here like Shanahan or Cowher who you would have to allow 10-15 yrs to win a superbowl but you want to oust the current coash only 3yrs into his tenure? It doesn't add up.
