I'm sorry mods you can move if you wish but it's important for me to seek Zone input on this.

My 50th birthday is this September 28. On the 27th the Boys are hosting the Falcons. As I live in Atlanta, I'm planning on making the journey to big D to celebrate my half century by attending my first Cowboys home game ever. I'll likely have a friend or two from Atlanta (Falcons fans booo) join me.

So - what are the best places in the stadium to watch the game? I'm on a budget but this is a special splurge!
Also - what are best areas to stay near stadium - hotels, etc?
And - best places to hang (bars, steakhouse) or golf?

We'll make a weekend of it before and after the game.

I'm so excited about this! After 50 years of life and 44 years of fandom finally seeing my Boys in Jerrahworld!

Thanks in advance for any advice. I've never even been to Dallas before let alone a game!

Don't get seats that are under the overhang of the level above. They have a massive sound system and the speakers will be right over your head. They have Miley Cyrus and various other nonsense cranked up 10x louder than the crowd. I prefer close to the front of the level that you're on (i.e. Second level 1st row is better than 1st level back row).

The Gaylord Hotel is the safe bet.

Restaurants are probably too numerous to list and depend on how far you want to drive. There are some decent restaurants in the Gaylord Hotel.

The Cowboys have a golf course (Tour 18).

Myself I stay at the Ebassy Suite in Irvin which is not far from DFW and also not far from Stadium. it is off County Line Road/Valley View Lane
When we go to the game we exit off 360 to 6 flag street and park across from the Ball Park where the Rangers play. Bit of a walk but easy access in and out of the area on a game day.

Make sure you do the stadium tour. Throw the ball around the field. Make a few catches.

Kneel on the star.
Slide into endzone.

I told my wife when the kid is old enough - I'm going to fly us out there to go to my first home game. I have had the pleasure of being at the Washington team's stadium and watching our boys whoop that okole, but never have had the home experience. Plan on throwing down like a rockstar!

I hope you have an extremely, happy, fun time!

Also I should ask about shuttles to stadium in lieu of parking

I don't know the cost, but there is no problem getting a shuttle if you stay at a Hotel in the general area. I would take the shuttle if I were you, unless you want to try to tailgate. You can drink beer and not have to worry if you take the shuttle. I've also been in a situation where I would like to have been in different vehicle than my friends. With the shuttle friends can leave early or stay late without causing you any grief.

You might want to walk through a parking lot even if you take the shuttle just to see some of the tailgating. The people that bring everything from home including their Satellite dish are interesting.

Get there early! Don't make specific plans at a specific time for after the game either. You don't want to feel rushed.

I would do the stadium tour on a day before the game day not after. If you just show up for the game without having done the tour, you'll be wondering about the stadium but won't have time to check it out because you'll be watching the game.

I'll give an unsolicited plug to using Star Sports Tours. I have used them in the past and will be using them again this year to go to the New England game. They have different package levels to fit your budget. The package we have used includes the following, and more:

- Transportation from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport at the end of the trip
- Two night stay at the same hotel the Cowboys stay at the night before the game, the Gaylord Texan
- Meet & Greet / Autograph session with players the day before the game. Last time we went we met Tyron Smith, Brandon Carr, Bruce Carter, Devonte Holloman and Orlando Scandrick
- Transportation to the game and back to the hotel after
- Tailgate Party with "Cowboys Legends". We met Charles Haley, Leon Lett, Rocket Ismail, Dat Nguyen. Great food, beer, beverages etc.
- 200 Level seats to the game.

My wife and I had an awesome time and can't wait for the next trip. They are a first class organization.

How about end zone first row lower level on the aisle? I have season tickets and I'm not planning to go to that game. I can sell them to you if you're interested. Section 125 Row 1.

Every game I have went to in Washington at Fedex, we fortunately have won the game.

A million Cowboys fans chanting "this is our house", it was so much fun!

However, I need to go to the palace in Texas for a home game for the entire experience.

Second the Gaylord. Great facility and they have shuttle service to the stadium. Plus it's the team's official hotel and you may catch players going to/fro meetings on the day before the game. I would avoid sitting in the upper levels if possible. The massive big screen is distracting and you end up watching it instead of the action on the field.

My first NFL game was against Washington.

When we still had TO. The game where we could have won, but TO couldn't reel it in and take it to the house. We had another chance to win (or tie can't remember) but they blocked the field goal - ran the ball back and ended up scoring a TD to beat us.

I almost got into a fight as well. Drunk Washington fan next to me decided to get right in my face - screaming at me - spittle flying out of his mouth. Not sure how it happened :) but his face decided to hit my fist. He stopped after that.

I did get to see Romo hit Murray for the game winner on that 4th down play - I was right in the endzone!

Can't wait for a home game! I always wear my Boy's gear. Would be fun not having to keep my head on a swivel for drunks looking to start a fight.

Staubacher this a great question. I will also be at the Falcons game to celebrate my 50th birthday with my family and two of my best friends and their wives. We are using Star Sports Travel (from the team website) and it comes highly recommended. I cannot wait!
