Have fun! :flagwave:

I'm 46, and still have never been to a Cowboys game though being a fan since childhood. I've been to two NFL games. I saw the Raiders play the Browns in Los Angeles, and I saw the Raiders play the Vikings in Oakland. I've been to Cowboys Stadium to watch the High School Football Championships. Hoping to finally get to see my Boys live in the next few years. Glad to see another long timer get his first game. :flagwave::dance:

Staying at the Gaylord and going to the game from Atlanta is going to be expensive. While theGaylord is nice, it's a tourist trap. Pay to park, $30 for Wi Fi, on and on. But if your rich live it up you only turn 50 once!!

Also... Approach the stadium from the front....
Start from way back. Don't approach sides and walk around.

Also, Check to see if the steel girders have rust on them where they meet the cement foundation blocks.

I went to first game in that stadium vs giants. I didn't like seeing that. Gotta call Jerry.

As some have said Gaylord is nice but for 300 plus I would stay somewhere cheaper and grab better seats. There is a La Quinta across the street from Six Flags that's a couple of miles away from the stadium. It's a decent little hotel that offers free shuttle and free breakfast. It has a small little bar where people hang out after the games. I've had some friends and family stay there when coming down for games and they have said it's pretty nice. There is also a Humperdinks right across the parking lot from them. If you wanted to foot if to the stadium it's probably a 20-30 minute walk nothing too drastic. Globe Life Park where the Texas Rangers play. There is a nice little park with a pond that has a trail that will take you to some of the various parking lots. I have a nice little picture I took while jogging the trail the other day of the stadium from silver lot 4. Which ever route you decide to take I'm sure you will love every minute of it. Best of luck!

Just tell us what you're thinking of doing and we should be able to suggest some things in the area.

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!

What about good Mexican food/bars? I'm not talking big chains I mean good hole in the wall type places where the tequila flows like honey and the food is authentic. We have a few like that here in Atlanta but I'm sure in Texas there are plenty more!

50th birthday, go all out. Get a suite to watch the game (for that game prob only $20K) and shack up at the Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons!! I'll meet you there to help celebrate!! ;)

I'm not the expert on that type of place.
I can get a recommend from my friend.
I go to Joe T Garcias in Fort Worth. They are on the internet. Food is OK. Place is big.
I would think there are a lot of good Tex - Mex places in the metroplex.
It's a Texas state law in every strip mall - there must be a Mexican type resturant.

How is section 445 row 18? Looking at some seats there

That is about where I sat my first game.
You will be right in front of the video board.
Hard not to watch the game on it.
I sat in the 300 sections for high school game there. That is the best level to watch from anywhere between the 20's.

Also on the North side of Route 30.
Across from Hurrican Harbor on Lamar Blvd is K1-Speed.
Electric go -karts. I was there Saturday - right when they opened. Did 2 races (14 laps each).
Great way to start game day with that rush. If weather is nice walk over to the stadium - about a mile and a half.

IMO, this is the way to go.... I have found that the 200 sections is as good or better than most section to sit, especially near the front of the section. If you sit up much higher you will find yourself watching the game on the big screen, and not enjoying the game experience. Unless you have your own vehicle, with your own bbq'ing supplies, it make little sense to try to tailgate. But you can walk through the lots and more likely than not someone will invite you for a beer and a bite. No matter what, it is an expensive trip, but well worth it.

I'll give an unsolicited plug to using Star Sports Tours. I have used them in the past and will be using them again this year to go to the New England game. They have different package levels to fit your budget. The package we have used includes the following, and more:

- Transportation from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport at the end of the trip
- Two night stay at the same hotel the Cowboys stay at the night before the game, the Gaylord Texan
- Meet & Greet / Autograph session with players the day before the game. Last time we went we met Tyron Smith, Brandon Carr, Bruce Carter, Devonte Holloman and Orlando Scandrick
- Transportation to the game and back to the hotel after
- Tailgate Party with "Cowboys Legends". We met Charles Haley, Leon Lett, Rocket Ismail, Dat Nguyen. Great food, beer, beverages etc.
- 200 Level seats to the game.

My wife and I had an awesome time and can't wait for the next trip. They are a first class organization.

Interesting. I've never heard of this before, but it sounds pretty sweet.

Would you mind saying how much a package like that costs?

Our packages range from $600 - $3000 per person, depending on what you want to do and where you want to sit. With such a wide range, we've got a package for every budget.
