As some have said Gaylord is nice but for 300 plus I would stay somewhere cheaper and grab better seats. There is a La Quinta across the street from Six Flags that's a couple of miles away from the stadium. It's a decent little hotel that offers free shuttle and free breakfast. It has a small little bar where people hang out after the games. I've had some friends and family stay there when coming down for games and they have said it's pretty nice. There is also a Humperdinks right across the parking lot from them. If you wanted to foot if to the stadium it's probably a 20-30 minute walk nothing too drastic. Globe Life Park where the Texas Rangers play. There is a nice little park with a pond that has a trail that will take you to some of the various parking lots. I have a nice little picture I took while jogging the trail the other day of the stadium from silver lot 4. Which ever route you decide to take I'm sure you will love every minute of it. Best of luck!

I've stayed at that location twice. It's much more budget friendly than the Gaylord. I'll also endorse Humperdinks while we are at it. Fantastic sports bar.

Interesting. I've never heard of this before, but it sounds pretty sweet.

Would you mind saying how much a package like that costs?
the package we bought was roughly $1300 per person, which includes everything I mentioned such as the hotel, game tickets etc. They do offer other less expensive packages also.

I'm sorry mods you can move if you wish but it's important for me to seek Zone input on this.

My 50th birthday is this September 28. On the 27th the Boys are hosting the Falcons. As I live in Atlanta, I'm planning on making the journey to big D to celebrate my half century by attending my first Cowboys home game ever. I'll likely have a friend or two from Atlanta (Falcons fans booo) join me.

So - what are the best places in the stadium to watch the game? I'm on a budget but this is a special splurge!
Also - what are best areas to stay near stadium - hotels, etc?
And - best places to hang (bars, steakhouse) or golf?

We'll make a weekend of it before and after the game.

I'm so excited about this! After 50 years of life and 44 years of fandom finally seeing my Boys in Jerrahworld!

Thanks in advance for any advice. I've never even been to Dallas before let alone a game!

Dude! This is surreal! So check this out, my 40th birthday is September 1st. I've been a Cowboy's Fan here in Southern Oregon, where I was born & raised, with the exception of College in Eugene, Oregon (GO DUCKS!!!!!) for 4 years! So, other than living up north in Eugene, from 93' to 97', at that point I returned to the Rogue Valley, where I was born & have made my living. Being a Cowboy's Fan since I was 5 years old, surrounded by Seahawk, Raiders & worse yet, Niner's Fans, it was difficult but I stood strong! An even bigger task considering my (Late) Dad & Grandfather's love for Montana, Young & Rice, well, yeah, let's just say there was a HUGE increase in your typical Father/Son, Teenage Angst in the family home, (GOD rest their souls!) Anyway, I too have never seen a Cowboy's game at AT&T or the old Texas Stadium. So, my (Still living) family are financing a Week 5 trip so I can see our Cowboys DEMOLISH the defending champs, the Pats. My family doesn't know that I took just the ticket allocation of $1,000 & added my own funds. Simply put, I figured this is a BIG DEAL, well at least for me, since I've been to Quest Field in Seattle & to the Niners old stadium to see some games, it's not like what I've read/seen on video of AT&T Stadium! So, I too am looking for advice on some really great Bars, places to eat, to go out dancing, everything cool & fun to go to, see & experience in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area? Also, I have a choice in upgrading my ticket, I can sit just left of the 50 yard line, so like at the 48 yard line, in row 2, so right upfront slightly to the right of midfield OR a front row seat, again just slightly to the left of the middle but this time it's in the End Zone! So, givin the choice, which place to watch, enjoy & go absolutely Ape $hitt from, is preferable, out of the two? Opinion's from those of you who have attended a Cowboy's Game at AT&T Stadium are more than welcome as I'd like to be basically at midfield but I'd also like to have Dez right in our faces as he throws up the "X" after hauling in his 3rd TD of the game, putting our Boys up, 31 to 0 going into the Half! :) It's too bad we weren't attending the same game, a double birthday blast, the big 4 0 and the even bigger 5 0 ! So, thank you all, in advance, for ya all's advice! Oh & "Staubacher" Happy Early Birthday, I hope you have a downright BLAST my friend! GO COWBOYS!

Depends on what kind of food and music you're in the mood for. To get you started, here's a few "can't go wrongs" in my opinion:

Food:
Steak: Bob's Steak and Chop House or Del Frisco's
Mexican: Joe T Garcia's or Los Vaqueros in Forth Worth, or Mia's in Dallas. (Jerry took Jimmy here)
Burgers: Whataburger or Chapps
Italian: Don't even bother
BBQ: Eddie Deen's
Breastaurant: Bone Daddy's
Misc: Arlington Highlands...lots to choose from.

Nightlife:
Red River - if you like country, it's a great honky tonk. Even if you don't like country you'll have a blast. (bonus - Gas Monkey Bar & Grill is right across the parking lot, though it never seems to be full. Cool place though with good food)
Live Music - Deep Ellum in Dallas or 7th St in Fort Worth
High Class clubs - Uptown

Misc:
Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Dallas - JFK history
Texas State Fair - More fried food than you've ever seen in one place
Stock Yards/Sundance Square in Fort Worth - Stock Yards is fun during the day, Sundance Square is fun at night

Hope this helps.

Great post and Happy Early 40th to you!

I'm sure you are getting the same great advice here that I have.

We will have lifetime memories! Especially when we tell our grandkids we were there the same season that the Boys won Super Bowl 50!

If you like Karaoke, I can recommend a great neighborhood bar has a great sound system and KJ's.
7 miles from the stadium, and has decent priced hotels, places to eat depending what you would want.
Someone mentioned Bone Daddys, there is one close by. If you wanted to just check out Gaylords but not stay there, it is close also.

That's the route we are taking. Packages on average are about $900-$950 per person. A little more to stay at the official team hotel.

How about end zone first row lower level on the aisle? I have season tickets and I'm not planning to go to that game. I can sell them to you if you're interested. Section 125 Row 1.

Area motels, I don't think matter where you stay. I'm all about cheap, so i normally stay at the Admiral (very close to cracker barrel). Game day, typically, I go to Humperdinks and enjoy some beers before and after the game. They offer shuttles for $10 I think?

Now that In-N-Out has made their way to Texas, I'd strongly recommend them for a burger. Others prefer whataburger and such, but In-N-Out animal style burgers are where it's at for me.

Definitely do the stadium tour. I haven't done one in a few years. The pro shop alone is amazing. Even opposing fans walk around that place in bewilderment.

There truly isn't a bad seat in the house. The screen is ridonculous. Being high up on the sidelines might be the best for your first experience. You get the take it all in or so to speak. But I think it's pretty common to end up watching the action on the screen rather than the field. So, personally, I like end zone seats for value.

Been wanting to go to an in-n-out place not too far from me, but haven't yet. Whataburger is good, but over rated. It's like a Mcdondalds burger on steroids. About same a a Whoper IMO.
Wendy's is better too IMO.
Braum's has a good burger as well as DQ and Sonic. Even Burger Box is better that Whataburger. All about the same. You can get a much better burger at many restaurants, unless it's the fast foods you want. And a restaurant really isn't that much more expensive for a much better meal.

And yes, many decent price hotels, but if convenience for a shuttle service is what you want, it's a good deal. Humperdinks is a good place, as well as other places close to the stadium. If you go and eat there, they provide a shuttle. I think a few places, if you spend more than $30, you can leave your vehicle, and walk across the street to the stadium.
Can't remember the names, but are in and near Lincoln Square.

It seems like native Texans seem to prefer the whataburger chain. It's all good. We don't have either burger in Oregon, closest thing is Five Guys, which is decent, but not the same.

Honestly, I've never met a burger I didn't like! Even White Castle works for me.

For the first row seats....I have the Giants, Falcons, Jets, Commanders left. I also have 2 seats in section 122 row 4 on the aisle for all the games except the Giants.

If you need 4 seats total seats for one particular game.... the only games I have available would be Falcons, Jets, Commanders, and possibly the Giants.

Tickets are anywhere from $400 total for a pair to $550 for a pair for the premier games. The Falcons game would be $500 for the pair.

Your selling better than I am. But my tickets for 2 seats face value is $680. I do have them listed a bit high right now. NE game did sell for $1500 for both including the $75 parking.

Yeah, you must have the sidelines some where. I wanted no part of those because of the extremely high face value. I think it would be much harder to sell those. My face value is pretty low and I can easily off load them. That NE game is going to be very popular.. I should sell mine for more than I am. :)

Club Seats, 20 yard line, row 1. cowboys side, section 313.
A friend and I split the seats for first 4 years, but money problems for him, and I have sole ownership now. but traveling for my work again, and needing to sell the game tickets most the time. I am thinking of selling the PSL's after this year if still traveling around off and on.

I see.. ya, that is rough because you 2 probably also had to put down a 20% down payment I would guess?
