Eagles got a lot of guys including Hurts who they will have to sign to big contracts this offseason.

You never know. Once they have to pay Hurts, and we should all root for him to win the MVP award, they will have their own CAP issues. I think the Eagles are a good team but they could lose some key players next year too.
Yep, Hurtz will want 50m per year and then the exodus of other players will happen immediately. You can’t build a dynasty these days.

And Jerry and Stephen always think we are good enough, just let down by circumstances or bad luck.
I was so surprised and excited they actually signed hankind and hilton instead of the normal rumor junk. Just wish they made them sooner.

We need more weapons, but I think we can compete with Philly. They may be losing some players this off-season, like everyone else

People said the same thing after RG3's one good season. Similar things were also said after EaGirls won their first SB.

Dallas' problem is that their approach to roster building is geared towards staying relevant and interesting. Meanwhile, everyone else in the NFL tries to build super bowl contenders.
Nail hits hammer. Jerry has 3, he just wants to be 8-8 or 9-8 forever. As long as they compete for a playoff spot he is happy. FS1, First take.
Sunday night flex.. Jerry is not really trying to win a SB.

Keep telling yourself that.

I mean they've played in 2 SBs in 6 years and the 2nd after basically having to tear down the 2017 SB winning team.

And then there is us. 27 years and counting.
5 years actually… they were in Super Bowl 52, and now Super Bowl 57

I'd settle for a super bowl appearance once a decade at this point. You can win with a big contract QB. KC is doing it right now. The problem is that your Qb better be HOF caliber and we don't have that.

they are going to be very good for many years. We need to get a better linebacker play and more weapons on offense or we are in big trouble. Being frugal and cheap is not going to beat them.

How you build a team though lol

Because they have a real GM that does his job. We don't.
Like Halley's comet or something like it, one question circles around and pops up here at season's end every year-- If Jerry Jones had been GM of another NFL team, any other team, how many times would he have been let go or terminated for cause during the past 20 years?

Well they won what 14? Hard to repeat that.

But they will be freaking good again next year unless they get hit by injuries.

We do this every year trying to cut off teams at the knees thinking they will be worse and we'll just slide up the pecking order with our BS offseasons.

Philly is the favorite to win the division in 2023 and until I see Jerry and Stephen have a real offseason and not their typical nickel and dime BS offseason, I expect Philly to break the streak and repeat.
This X 1000. We love to look at our competition through a glass half empty lens...but look at the Cowboys through a glass half full lens

The 49ers were better than us last year...we did nothing...and they continued to be better than us this year

The Eagles were not better than us last year...they did SOMETHING...and now they are better than us.

It's not more complicated than that.

We HOPED all the moves they made would not work out. Well, they worked out to the tune of them drawing the Giants in the divisional round...which made their appearance in the NFC title game (something we have not done in 28 years) a shoe in. And now they are in the Super Bowl. Again, somewhere we have not been in 28 years. They were there 5 years ago. And are back again with a different QB and Head Coach.

Relying on HOPE is not working out for us!

You can add the giants to the list.
If we don't get some competition at QB I'd put us at 3rd in the division at 10-7 best case.

Our plan to compete goes something like this:

1. Lock up Diggs long term. Take a team friendly contract and turn it into the biggest CB deal ever for a guy who basically quit on us in the playoffs.
2. Redo Zeke contract to keep it going for another painful season.
3. Redo Tyron contract to keep it going for another painful season.
4. Pay Pollard like he is an MVP candidate.
5. Pay LVE a nice retirement package.
6. Restructure Dak to get under the cap.
7. Fill out roster with as cheap as possible players.

Like it or not if you don't get younger every year in the NFL you are probably going to get worse. Every time we hit the reset button we see massive improvements. The problem is we hang onto the sudden improvement like it is a 5 year super bowl window. You need to be ready to hit the reset button every year.

Better than your boy Romo.
1. Tony is worth more
2. Tony has a hotter wife
3. Dak likes guys
4. Romo doesn’t have to breathe through his mouth
5. Tony isn’t the laughing stock of the league
6. Tony has a better dollar for dollar career
7. Tony is a plus golfer
8. Tony is setup for the next 30 years
9. Tony has a fully formed and functional brain

Anything else I miss?

Ok, other than emotions,,what are you basing this on? 10 starters are FAs, that includes 7 on defense, (29m in next years cap is tied into 3 DL who currently aren’t slated to be on the team) and 3 of 4 starting secondary. Key backups including Scott are also FA and they still haven’t paid their QB. They have a total of 5 draft picks to make up the difference. This was the first season in his career Brown didn’t miss time… what are the chances of that happening 2 years in a row? With Smith’s frame he’s eventually going to have injury issues. I’m thinking they’re just as, if not more likely to be a mirror of the Rams. But hey, emotions!

The Eagles played against a 4th String QB and there entire city is cesspool. Hope they get bombed
But they put themselves in this position by taking care of the regular season games and getting the 1 seed. Cowboys choking away the Jax game and then losing horrible to an average Commanders team that had nothing to play for cost Dallas a legit shot to get there.
