I'd like something around 8 megapixels for around 70-80 bucks.

Not a bad deal. For an extra 3 and change you get a battery too.

With shipping you might still be under $90.

I'd nix the one from Toys-R-Us, because it comes with only a 10 MB card. You're not going to get much on that and it already costs more.

The Kodak doesn't come with a card at all.

I'd go with the A170 from Dell or the J28 from Amazon.
The A170 comes with the 10 MB card, but costs less than what Toys r Us was selling for. The best buy still seems to be Amazons, with the free 2GB card.

Nah, but i did just order this camera as a 2nd small go-anywhere camera (I've got a Pentax DSLR that I love), so if you don't get it, I'll let you know how I like it.

for 80 bucks, you can't really lose, it retails for about $120 usually, the memory card and the case aren't all that great but it's about another 15-20 dollar value, so about $140 worth of gear for $80 and it's got good reviews on Amazon so I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

Just ordered it a couple of minutes before my post. I have Amazon Prime so I get free two day shipping, they say it'll arrive Friday but I sent it to work so won't get it till monday. Amazon shipping is pretty fast, their regular free shipping should be 3-5 days.

If you look on the amazon site under customer product images or whatever you'll see pictures taken that were uploaded to the site, but Amazon compresses them so you can expect the pictures will generally be of better quality.

From what I can tell the picture quality isn't spectacular, which is about on par with a compact cam. It seems like what it does best are portrait to mid-distance shots. Not macro or landscape images. Which is all I really need it for and of course you gotta keep the price in mind, there are cameras this size that certainly take better pictures but they are also pricier.

Nope, doesn't come with a memory card but it does come with batteries, just regular AA's. You may want to pick up a pair of rechargeable if you don't already have them.

Which will take better pictures?

I think it's impossible to tell without looking at pictures from both cameras. A lot of people have been fooled into thinking greater MP equals better pictures but that isn't always the case.

I think im going to go with the Fuji.

My parents old camera was a Fuji and from the reviews i've read everyone says this camera takes great pictures and its easy to use. My parents still don't know their way around electronics very good but they are getting better.

I try to force stuff on them so that they dont get behind on technology.

For 75 bucks if they dont like it than its no big deal but it will blow away their old camera.

It met ever expectation I had and was better than I thought it would be.

I don't know a lot about Digital cameras but the pictures look great to me.
