Negative Town?

If we do finish 10-6 or 11-5 and do miss the playoffs... I'm guessing we don't... but say we do... ISN'T THAT STILL A GREAT SEASON!?!?!?!?!?

Sure there will be some disappointment from having that record and not playing on, but if that's the breaks that's the breaks... IT CAN STILL BE A GREAT SEASON!

Different standards for different folks.

You can't call a season "great" without making the playoffs regardless the record. A 10-6 or 11-5 record would certainly be considered progress for a Cowboys team that's finished 8-8 the past 3 seasons but the goal every season is to qualify for the playoffs and to have a "great" season making the playoffs is a must.

I just don't understand why people can't enjoy this for what it is.

The team was supposed to be awful this year. Their record, according to everyone, should be the exact opposite of what it is now. They're competing. They're fighting. They're not backing down from anything, and at times they have looked damn good doing it.

I don't know how the season is gonna end. I'm not foolish enough to declare they're making a Super Bowl run. If they win out, great. If they lose out, fine. Either way, the past 5-6 years should have no bearing on this. They're not the same team.

Given the way this league is constructed and given the way this season was supposed to play out, if you can't take just a little bit of joy in what the team is doing right now, you're watching the wrong sport. At the least, you're rooting for the wrong team.

I'm going to have fun watching these final 3 games regardless what happens.

to them, they are. I'm like you, I watch it for fun and don't pin my hopes and dreams on something I can't control. others may be a bit more "fanatical" about it and that's fine too. it's learning to talk to each other at times that can cause issues. :)

18 years with one playoff will do that to a fan base. It's not like we've run the tables before and come up heads. We've seen this picture again and again and again ... and are wary about this current team falling into the same trap as previous years. We all know 10-6 may not get into the playoffs. We also know that we probably won't win 3 out of 3. In fact, losing 3 out of 3 is more likely.
