Negative Town?

It's the age old adage: Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. This team has put the fan base through the wringer multiple times, I think it's only natural to be skeptic. Granted, there are some that are over the top negative and they're idiots.

Very sensible post.

Playoffs or not, we've done a heckuva lot better than I expected we would after such a dismal 2013 season, preseason, and that horrible first game! I'm just as hungry as any of you for another Super Bowl victory, and of course I want the 'Boys to make the playoffs.....BUT, they've played some really good football this year; they won some games they shouldn't have (Saints and Seahawks in particular). It was a very fun ride. I'll be sorely disappointed when it's over, but Ive seen nothing to go negative about. When this all started in September, I figured we'd be lucky if we were 5-8 right now with no chance for playoffs.

Some of the people on this board would find something negative to say if we won the Super Bowl because we didn't win it decisively enough, or because Romo may have thrown an INT in the 1st Qtr.

*smh*

Personally, I have a lot of doubt. It's hard to blame all of that beatdown on a short turnaround, although I am certain that had a lot to do with it. I just know how I feel after pulling an "all nighter", which is what the players, in essence, had to do. They're all quite a bit younger than me, but it still had to effect them for that game. I don't know if Dallas wins the game, but I sure don't expect this game to look anything like that Turkey Day game.

I don't see this as a sure thing either, Dallas is going to need to go out and control the ball and keep Philly offense on the bench and when Philly offense does take the field Dallas must limit the big play, their offense is about the big play if you force them into long drives they will mess up. Kelly does not give a damn about TOP he is looking for the quick strikes. I go back to the main key and that is McCoy, when he is limited Philly offense is not as effective

Nail on head.

it's dress rehearsal for some, it would seem.

I just don't understand why people can't enjoy this for what it is.

The team was supposed to be awful this year. Their record, according to everyone, should be the exact opposite of what it is now. They're competing. They're fighting. They're not backing down from anything, and at times they have looked damn good doing it.

I don't know how the season is gonna end. I'm not foolish enough to declare they're making a Super Bowl run. If they win out, great. If they lose out, fine. Either way, the past 5-6 years should have no bearing on this. They're not the same team.

Given the way this league is constructed and given the way this season was supposed to play out, if you can't take just a little bit of joy in what the team is doing right now, you're watching the wrong sport. At the least, you're rooting for the wrong team.

I'm going to have fun watching these final 3 games regardless what happens.

Yep. It all ends badly, every year, for 31 fan groups. It's the ride that's supposed to be fun. If the ride is not fun, something is wrong with your pastime.

Just me, or did this forum make a turn to negative town this weekend? Man alive. I swear some of you guys think we lost to the bears are the worst team in the NFL and are 9-4 by sure luck.

This weekend?

If we do finish 10-6 or 11-5 and do miss the playoffs... I'm guessing we don't... but say we do... ISN'T THAT STILL A GREAT SEASON!?!?!?!?!?

Sure there will be some disappointment from having that record and not playing on, but if that's the breaks that's the breaks... IT CAN STILL BE A GREAT SEASON!

Not just you at all. Some people are talking about a wild card when we have a chance to win the division. We control our own destiny, but all they talk about is what can go wrong without acknowledging what can go right. If we do win the East, they will look back and realize they forgot to enjoy the ride.

Nothing but immense love for you!

containing McCoy and hitting sanchez are the keys
play man and bump their WRs, be physical

Beat Philly, and all be great....for a few seconds....then we will get a threads about collapsing in the last 2 games....

No, but they would have to beat Indy the following weekend unless you're counting on the Eagles losing to NY or WAS.

There were those who were conceding the division to Philly before the Cowboys ever played them and these were FANS. They feel the Cowboys best chance of making the playoffs is as a wildcard. The true definition of "negative" is giving up on winning the division with several games to go with your team in control of its own destiny. You have a lot of FANS who would rather the Cowboys play on the road if they make the playoffs because they're undefeated on the road this season while all 4 of their losses have come at home. That's being negative.

True, down and distance is critical for Sanchez, if Dallas can control McCoy keep Philly in 3rd and 5 or more and stop the big play they have a chance to keep the score down.
