The Cowboys appeared in one less playoff game 6 years before Jerry than the Arlington Jonesboys the last 6 years with Jerry. You do not want me to compare the 27 years before Jerry to the last 27 with Jerry. 27 years before Jerry were the GLORY DAYS!

The game and talent was passing Landry up. But 1983-1888 was not a Dumpster fire unless you hold it to the standards of the Dallas Cowboys America's team (which Arlington Jonesboys fans do not hold Jerry Jones):
19831983NFLNFCEast2nd#1240Lost Wild Card playoffs (Rams) 24–17
19841984NFLNFCEast4th970
19851985NFLNFCEast^1st^[10]1060Lost Divisional playoffs (at Rams) 20–0
19861986NFLNFCEast3rd790
1987[11]1987NFLNFCEast4th780
19881988NFLNFCEast5th3130

Since 1995 with Jerry Jones, the Cowboys have had 3 consecutive 5-11 seasons, 3 consecutive 8-8 seasons, another none playoff 8-8 season, three 6-10 seasons, and a 4-12 season. That never occurred in the History of the Dallas Cowboys from expansion team 1960 to 1989.

Tex Schramm and Gil Brandt had already discussed with Jimmy Johnson to be the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys after the 1989 season. So the 90's Dallas Cowboys Dynasty was going to happen with or without Jerry Dumbo GM Jones.
So, you’re not a Cowboys fan. Got it.

Honestly, anyone who is living in the 60’s-80’s and never got past Tex and Tom and insist on referencing the “Arlington Jones Boys” are like Browns fans who were never able to move past Art Modell

Or Raiders fans who never got past Al Davis

Life moves on. Things change.

The world doesn’t stop at whatever point in time you identified as a “fan”.

Root for *our* team or just drift off into the obscurity of the “good ol’ days” and let the real fans root for the Dallas Cowboys even if they aren’t perfect and don’t make us remember what it was like “when we were young”.

Lookin foward to it. Livin in the past can be quite comforting when reality gives you nothing but crap. (No I dont care about reg season wins anymore).

So, since Netflix has done quite a few quality docus, this is something to look forward to. I was about 11 and became a fan in the 91/92 season (little did I know what was yet to come) and was new to the sport as a whole. Great memories from those days, especially since there was hardly any NFL coverage at all in Germany, so we kinda celebrated any game that was broadcasted. Begged our moms to stay up late and all that... fun times. :)

LoL and I don't give a rat's arse about who the Daksters deem suitable to be a Cowboys fan.

Some of us did get past Landry's firing. Some of us became Jones fans in the 90's. It's the Arlington Jones Boys of the 2000's we don't like. They've totally ruined what the Cowboys used to be. Made us a laughingstock of the league. And no I'm not deserting the team. I'm determined to outlive Jerry and hope that Stephen does the right thing although I think he'll be worse.

The right thing would have been Dez catches it and Murray doesn't fumble.

Some fans simply can’t handle the criticism.

But as fans we can continue following and rooting our team on while also calling out the issues which concern us that we feel are contributing to this era having less success. And there’s none bigger than the one constant throughout this era in our owner and GM.

why? I grew up when a team tee shirt was about all you wore. we were into the game-not overly

why cause I dont like Jerry. yeah ok.
Yea, I grew up when there wasn’t tshirts or gear to buy. I recall my mother in the early 60’s sewing numbers on a sweatshirt for me .

Fans didn’t have gear to wear to games. I recall my dad wearing his suit and tie .

Ever hear about the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts, or Houston Oilers...Jerry survived all of that along with free agency and cap limitations with now a very strong team in place. I'll be listening to the TRUTH!!

1995 Art Modell decided to move the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore.
1997 The Houston Oilers became the Tennessee Titans.
1984 The Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis

There is literally a documentary about the Cowboys from 30 years ago coming out, and yet somehow I'M living in the past? Why didn't you follow Hostile to his site?
I did as well as write for about six months on the Cowboys on Bleacher Report.

There was an anti-Jerry bias and monitoring for that slant with Hostile then.

LOL,. those who think Jerry is not done and will win another one or two SBs in his lifetime are just fooling themselves. Jerry is gonna remain the GM til the day he gets planted. If he was to retire and have his offspring somehow miraculously win a SB, and he cannot take credit for it. His overinflated ego will not take it. The story will be he held the Cowboys back and was just in the way. He will go to his grave just craving for the chance to say he did it. We are just witnesses to his failure.

As for the series, if it's gonna be an hour long, with ten episodes, that is a lot of stuff to cover. And those teams weren't exactly choir boys. So expect warts and all. I bet most of you guys will watch even if you don't admit it. Who you fooling?

It is really funny because Jerry has this team set up to do very well and the cry babies cry when they should be excited that they have a good contending team.

agree-I liked it better when the game was the focus-not the stadium or how everyone is dressed up

It was much better then. No drunks or opposing fans . But we dressed much better . Many came straight to the game from church.
