So, bye FeliciaAfter the Green Bay debacle and the horrible offseason followed by a terrible regular season, I am ready to move on from McCarthy if, and only if, we bring in one of the top head coaching candidates. Lost a lot of interest in the Cowboys and the NFL last season because of the Jones's ineptitude and buffoonery. Bring in a Ben Johnson, Mike Vrabel, Aaron Glenn, Cliff Kingsbury and, christ, even Kellen Moore and I will be instantly intrigued and excited about the offseason and coming season.
If they bring back Big Mike or, even worse, don't bring him back and wait till all the good candidates are gone and hire Joe Schmo, which is the likiest outcome, I may lose my interest for good. I know it doesnt matter to them but I enjoy rooting for the Cowboys and being excited during the offseason and when it matters. Just my two cents. What say you?
We have a professional GMYep,until they get a professional GM, I am not holding my breath.
The Texans? When did he start coaching for Houston?I can't imagine Steve Sarkisian would leave a up-and-coming team like the Texans, to join a ragtag setup like the Cowboys have w/this FO.
Strange things do happen in the NFL, but if that became one of them, it might well shake the foundations of the NFL world. Is that what Micah is counting on? Something miraculous like that? If so, it surely would instill some new reasons to reconsider the fate of this franchise!! Whoa!!
Franchise doesn’t need savingNo one is capable of saving this franchise until the Jones are no longer involved in football decisions.
Ok, how about a competent GM?We have a professional GM
Read what you just wrote, that is an oxymoron. A good GM doesn’t handcuff his teamWhy all of a sudden he’s not competent? He’s a good GM he just needs to stop handcuffing his coaches and let them do their jobs
You are part of the problem. Why all of a sudden he’s not competent? He’s a good GM he just needs to stop handcuffing his coaches and let them do their jobs
He didn't -- I meant to say the Texas Longhorns -- my mistake. The Texans? When did he start coaching for Houston?
This is why I can't get excited about a new head coach. He can't overcome that. Look where we were last year along with the Lions for example. If you took an NFL fan vote before the playoffs, would the Cowboys or Lions win out as the better team? I think it would be close. Now look at what both teams did in the offseason. The direction these two teams went is embarrassingly opposite. While Jerry might get better results this offseason, he's not going to do anything differently. What coach can make up for this? After the Green Bay debacle and the horrible offseason followed by a terrible regular season, I am ready to move on from McCarthy if, and only if, we bring in one of the top head coaching candidates. This is right up there with believing in Santa, the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny!!Why all of a sudden he’s not competent? He’s a good GM he just needs to stop handcuffing his coaches and let them do their jobs
Steve's making $10 million a year through 2030 at Texas. Don't think he will want to give that up for an "incentive ladened" $4 million dollar value meal deal here.
Edit: Not to mention his $40 million+ buyout...
Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bring the entire Notre Dame coaching staff to Dallas and we're back in the Super Bowl next year!!!After the Green Bay debacle and the horrible offseason followed by a terrible regular season, I am ready to move on from McCarthy if, and only if, we bring in one of the top head coaching candidates. We bringing their AD to be the GM too? Because we stand little chance with the same guys running the show who haven't got us back in a Super Bowl since 1995.Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bring the entire Notre Dame coaching staff to Dallas and we're back in the Super Bowl next year!!!
That's right a coach who is hungry and wants to be successful won't come here. Because they know ,the incompetence will hurt their chances to succeed here. This is why I can't get excited about a new head coach. He can't overcome that.
