I want to see Big Mac leave, not because he's a bad coach but because Booger doesn't deserve to have a coach like him.

Booger deserves the greenest, rawest most basic coach he get due to his pay scale. That's what he pays for and that's all he should get.

I can't imagine Steve Sarkisian would leave a up-and-coming team like the Texans, to join a ragtag setup like the Cowboys have w/this FO.

Strange things do happen in the NFL, but if that became one of them, it might well shake the foundations of the NFL world. Is that what Micah is counting on? Something miraculous like that? If so, it surely would instill some new reasons to reconsider the fate of this franchise!! Whoa!!
If he wins a national championship, he might coz college jobs will always be there.

In other words ......Jerry has created a mess (lol)
i cant believe some of us still have to explain this.

Jerry did not create a mess. he ONLY created a mess IF Cowboy fans thought the goal was winning.

Jerry created what Jerry wanted, a cash farm. THe stadium brings in money all year round and the sports shows talk about him. With a sport that shuts down a small part of the time, Jerry can keep Jerry land making money year round and keep the shows talking about his cash farm.

thats what Jerry wanted.

After the Green Bay debacle and the horrible offseason followed by a terrible regular season, I am ready to move on from McCarthy if, and only if, we bring in one of the top head coaching candidates. Lost a lot of interest in the Cowboys and the NFL last season because of the Jones's ineptitude and buffoonery. Bring in a Ben Johnson, Mike Vrabel, Aaron Glenn, Cliff Kingsbury and, christ, even Kellen Moore and I will be instantly intrigued and excited about the offseason and coming season.
If they bring back Big Mike or, even worse, don't bring him back and wait till all the good candidates are gone and hire Joe Schmo, which is the likiest outcome, I may lose my interest for good. I know it doesnt matter to them but I enjoy rooting for the Cowboys and being excited during the offseason and when it matters. Just my two cents. What say you?
And how will the new hc do with Jerry making most of the hc decisions?

Thanks for the insult. I thought this was an opinions forum? And I don’t see your cardboard sheriffs badge deputizing you to be the opinion police. Which forum rule did I break?
Sorry, let me qualify. I was referring to the coaches as swallowing their pride by sulking in private and doing whatever Jerry wants. No personal slight intended towards you.

The counter arguments to bringing in a new coach is that it leads to 1) a complete reset on pressure-to-win, 2) a learning period where the team has to switch to and learn new systems and ways of doing things, and 3) we have no real idea how it will work out and the experiment would likely last at least 3-4 years regardless of how it the first year or two goes.

At this point, I am neither excited about McCarthy remaining or with him leaving because there is no telling who they will bring in to replace him.

There's a chance that if he remains then we get 2024 all over again in 2025. There is also a chance if he leaves and a new coach is hired, we get 2024 or worse in 2025.

After 30 years of failed seasons that spans multiple coaches and a lot of wasted years by great Cowboys players, it's hard to believe any coach will be successful here until it actually happens one day.
I just want different to hope (if even slightly) for different results. If it crashes and burns, I'm more OK with that than doing the same thing and expecting different results. McCarthy has had his five years to produce different results than the guy before him and the guy before him and the guy before him and the guy before him and the guy before him. The last 30 years indicate that it is an impossible task, but I'd rather see someone else take it on to find out if they can somehow overcome the challenges of coaching for the Joneses.

Hope for Mike but prepare for Zimmer. There is no one else coming to save this franchise
I totally agree a top coach that is serious and has his own view of how he wants to coach. Will not want this atmosphere under ol Jerry.I am deep into draft study and hoping for a miracle , despite ol Jerry.
