That's right a coach who is hungry and wants to be successful won't come here. Because they know ,the incompetence will hurt their chances to succeed here.
Of course!!! The GM is bad. That's who provides you with the players. But some coaches will come here for the hype of being the coach of the Cowboys.

No top coach with other prospects is going to Dallas, it’s a bad situation.

-Terrible GM for life that has zero accountability .
-Cheap owner that doesn’t want to pay coaches or staff
-Top heavy roster with poor depth
-Owner / GM undercuts the HC by constantly being in front of cameras.

I can't imagine Steve Sarkisian would leave a up-and-coming team like the Texans, to join a ragtag setup like the Cowboys have w/this FO.

Strange things do happen in the NFL, but if that became one of them, it might well shake the foundations of the NFL world. Is that what Micah is counting on? Something miraculous like that? If so, it surely would instill some new reasons to reconsider the fate of this franchise!! Whoa!!
He’d also be taking a massive pay cut. He’s making over 10 mil a year, McCarthy makes 4. You taking a 6 million dollar pay cut to work for Jerry?

They should have already moved on. If (which I doubt) the Cowboys get a new HC it won't be a top head coaching candidate. Those wouldn't come to Dallas for the substandard money the Jones' pay.
Yes, today on Fox, on the Wild Card Weekend preview, they made note of the history made by Green Bay (with the help of your Dallas Cowboys) to come in as the first 7 seed to knock out a 2 seed.

Cowboys, making History for all of the wrong reasons!!!

After the Green Bay debacle and the horrible offseason followed by a terrible regular season, I am ready to move on from McCarthy if, and only if, we bring in one of the top head coaching candidates. Lost a lot of interest in the Cowboys and the NFL last season because of the Jones's ineptitude and buffoonery. Bring in a Ben Johnson, Mike Vrabel, Aaron Glenn, Cliff Kingsbury and, christ, even Kellen Moore and I will be instantly intrigued and excited about the offseason and coming season.
If they bring back Big Mike or, even worse, don't bring him back and wait till all the good candidates are gone and hire Joe Schmo, which is the likiest outcome, I may lose my interest for good. I know it doesnt matter to them but I enjoy rooting for the Cowboys and being excited during the offseason and when it matters. Just my two cents. What say you?
I'll need more than just the appearance of motion to get my hopes up.

What in the world are you even saying? Did you mean you want to bring in ONE of those guys you listed? Because at the end you said "AND kellen Moore", which would infer that you were suggesting we hire ALL of those guys...which of course would be a complete nonsensical statement to make.

One of the above and I forgot to mention Ben Johnson. We need a new direction

I agree , Dallas could get lucky with a coach who could bring new ideas and team chemistry .But good sound decisions from the top have always been hard to come by here .I realize we as fans are beating a dead horse ,or so to speak .But I feel that no matter how good the coaching staff is ,can they overcome the bad decisions that are made. With this team that is the elephant in the room. One major mystery to me is being cheap when paying a head coach ,when their is no cap on head coach salary.Another is player aquisition in free agency ,refusing to better your team when you can.My example is last offseason Derrick Henry was there for cheap 2 years 14 to 16 million .But we watch him running wild for the Ravens ,he changes 2024 for Dallas if that move is made . The Cowboys would have been a different team with Henry and would have been in the playoffs , instead of 7and 10 .Long time Cowboys fans opinion.

Henry wouldn't have put us over the top, but it would have made us better, and at a relatively low cost. There's no downside to picking up Henry. But they refuse to deviate from their offseason ritual and stubbornly stick to it every year.

Say what you want about the Cowboys offseason. Like it or hate it. But the one thing they never do, and it bothers me, they never ask themselves how we can improve from last season. Their system is the same every year. It doesn't matter if we win 5 games or 12 games. The system doesn't change.

Good Post, you nailed it stubborn and cheap ,but why cheap with the coaching staff ,I can't figure that out.Thinking logically just does not apply with this crew ,it's just common sense and we are low in this regard with GM Jerry and Son.30 years with no improvement it is beyond understanding. This team needs some good luck and a lot of it .

I heard a statistic that McCarthy was the second lowest paid coach. Who was paid lower?

No. That's just one reason why Sarkisian isn't likely to switch to the C'boys. Another is that it'd be a big step down from his current team.

If the Cowboys bring back McCarthy.....it officially means they are tanking for Manning in 2025 or 26.
