A little suspicious that Flowers's and Cason's name weren't on that list? Conspiracy theory anyone?

Agree, but if you take a cb in rd 1, many would hope that he does in fact have that 4.4 speed to recover, b/c nobody is perfect. The best CB's will go for jukes/moves, and with the WR speed in the NFL, you hope a CB taken in the 1st rd has the speed to catch up enough to at least have a shot at a pass break up.

But again, I am on record saying I wouldnt mind Cason or Flowers at 22, I just think that there are legitimate arguments to be made that it may be a tad high. Doesn't mean that we shouldnt take them there though.

Personally, I would risk the criticism of being a 'tad high' over losing a quality player I really wanted.

Like DeAngelo Hall? ;)

Playing corner isn't all about speed but positioning, hip movement, recognizing routes and technique.

It's kind of like receiving skills. If you know how to run your routes and you're good at faking, you can buy the necessary time you need to catch a pass. You may not be able to pull away from defenders, but, so what? How often does that happen anyway?

Besides, Cason is probably about as fast as Quentin Jammer, Chris McAlister, Henry, Charles Woodson, Al Harris, Antrelle Rolle, etc.

And he's a talent corner too.

He's good at #22, and I hope the Cowboys grab him.

That's been my theory from the start of Whiteboardgate.

BTW, has anyone tried Googling "Cowboys Draft Board"? It's amazing how many places have these pics.

I don't mind Cason at 28, it could be worse. I hope we do better at 22 though then either of these 2.

Cason wouldn't be a reach in my opinion. Ask Hos for more details on that one. Just because one of us believe it to be, doesn't mean the Cowboys have not done their homework on the player they covet.

I am glad to see we are looking at a CB who is productive, athletic, and can run faster than a 4.58 40 (unlike Stanback)

I would be sooooo happy if Cason is our pick at 22.

dfense, I'm a little disappointed in you (hi five)
:muttley:

You know that this is draft week and this forum is for serious Cowboy fans. (we needed that)
:shades:

Look, I've seen you around this forum from time to time and although I don't know where you came from before that, I do know that I and perhaps many other members of this forum are not going to put up with those kind of Shenanigans and flim flam! (hilarious! that's your best post ever, you and I could definitely to hang out anytime)
:lmao2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Again, this is draft week for Cowboys fans all over the world and if you think you can throw out your own observations, (personal or otherwise) to get a giggle (much needed thanks) then let me just tell you that you have another thing coming (can't wait to hear your material on the RB's & WR's)  :lmao2: :bravo:

b.t.w. it would have been even funnier if the poster you responded to had mention snot knocker. :lmao:

This thread shouldn't get messy, but if it does I doubt anyone is going to say that Cason flat out cant play. I do think its legitimate to argue that to take a cb at 22, you would like him to have the prototypical NFL CB speed. Also, I think that if people feel like he would be there at 28, then taking him at 22 would obviously frustrate them.

Again, personally, I wouldnt mind it at all. Or Flowers.

Talib doesn't have prototypical speed either. McShay showed on espn today how talib got burned repeatedly, sometimes in the same game and by not so speedy receivers. I'm not sold on talib at all. :starspin

Talib needs to play with more discipline. He takes a lot of chances and does get burned because of it. Talib plays well with everything in front of him. He may turn out to be a better FS then CB. To early to tell yet.

Cason is a very good football player. He stikes me more as a zone corner than a press cover guy though. Most of the plays I saw him make were when he was facing the QB and the WR had a 5-10 yard cushion. Of course there were times that he turned and ran with WR's in a man situation but for the most part he was in zone a lot at Arizona. Obviously Hos could correct me if I am wrong.

That said, I wouldn't be upset if Dallas drafted him because as I said, he is a very good football player. Not sure if 22 is where he should go but...
