Give me the first round pick I could understand what you're saying. Just shows the confidence in what we have in front of him. We only rushed for yesterday. We need a run stopper

There have been plenty of 2nd round DTs that have played right from the start of their career and been effective.

Trying to claim this is totally normal for a 2nd round pick is simply not accurate.

Yes it's telling. But what is it telling us. I don't think it's saying they don't believe in him

I think it tells us that their second round pick, a guy they tried to sell to the fans at the draft as a guy who could make an impact, isn't good enough in the coaches eyes to be active in their first game.

I am sure they think he has potential, but him not being active pretty clearly tells you the coaching staff thinks he can't play and be effective right now. I am sure they think/hope they can develop him in the future.

It also doesn't help that guys they targeted and could have drafted, like Thornhill, are active and played well in their first games.

Yeah but they were on the less talented teams. I actually like are starters. But make no mistake about it I've been begging for a defensive tackle for Five Seasons now. So I know exactly what you're saying. But I'm not making the decisions

I never said he did but thinking LVE played really good and Smith was terrible is a reach.

As I said, that first drive alone, LVE misread the Barkley run and let him get a huge game (partially thanks to the dumb angle Heath later took) and then on the TD, LVE totally screwed up and got caught on the play action.

I found both LBs play to be "mehhhh".
Ya,I recall seeing the #38's slightly miscalculated flight vectoring coordinates being applied in his closing the distance gap on that one Barkley run you're speaking of.
I also recall seeing the the #38 come zooming in from an oblique angle and promptly zap Barkley outta' bounds ,as easily as you or I could kick a bale of hay down from the overhead loft,,,also.

Thanks for refreshing my memory because someone else said that didn't happen. I'm not that old.

He's a bottom third of the league starting S.

So yeah, he's as bad as people make him out to be.
I disagree what you have to be the best to get credit. The dude is a football player. And people need people like him on there team. So many great opportunities have been taken away from him because of calls or penalties. You get some of those interceptions especially against Green Bay and your loving him

Again, he's a bottom third starting S in this league.

Few have said they don't want him on the team. They just don't want him starting. He has a place on this team......... as a special teams guy and backup safety.

You make it sound like you shouldn't even be in the league or on the team.

No, you just can't read. I said he's a bottom third STARTING SAFETY. And he is.

I have no problem with him being a backup S on this team.

Saying all 2nd round defensive tackles. Start Right off the bat is simply not accurate also

Obviously you're having a comprehension problem also because I never said he should be the starter. I simply said we need guys like him on the team. Did you wake up silly this morning my cowboy brother

People talk about Heath way too much.

He doesn't positively or negatively impact a game enough to warrant all this conversation. We might as well talk about the fullback while we're at it.

Heath should not be in the box. He's a deep zone coverage corner, and pretty good at that, but worse and worse the closer they force him to the LOS.

Note that for all the hoopla for Woods, he was no picnic either, and he at least gets to play his natural position.

Wilson should be taking over much of Heath's run defense responsibilities. Then people can spend their time complaining about Heath's poor kicking.
