Jordan Lewis tackled Barkley, by himself, twice in the open field. Love that kid.

Jeff Heath is always trying to make the big hit and that leaves him looking stupid sometimes.

Trysren Hill can be considered a bust until he proves otherwise.

What's it going to be then, eh?

He was asked to play the nickel LB role and got steamrolled.
Whenever they showed field level on Barkley's runs he was being shoved right off the screen. They have to look at this once Wilson is able to return. This was just a continuation of his poor support from the Rams game.

Just showing what was available. Tre boston was out there on the cheap and 2 safeties that were available at 58. Our 2nd round pick was a healthy inactive today. Woooooo

True. True.

We are stuck with him though, until Wilson heals and beats him out.

Eh...so Heath didn't have his greatest game...he still is a tone setter on defense like early when he absolutely blasted Sheppard.
Heath's not an All-Pro we all know that but football teams need players like him. For what he is(an UDFA) he's not a bad player at all.

I seriously don't understand why he gets so much hate from people, its not like he's a 1st overall pick or something playing like this.

Whether it was Hill or someone else, we really did need to draft a 3T for *next* year with Collins leaving and Crawford getting ever older.

Heath should have been out of the box long ago, but we came up empty on Frazier. And this year on Iloka too. Luckily it looks like Wilson is ahead of schedule.

But still it is a puzzle to me that we never took the opportunity to upgrade at SS with veterans still on the market who were a clear upgrade. It's the low hanging fruit to improve the team, but they refuse to pick it. And then we carry 5 guys instead. Do we really need Thompson or Frazier? Yeah, Wilson's injury put us in a short term bind, but even on final cuts "we like our guys".

Heath should not be in the box. He's a deep zone coverage corner, and pretty good at that, but worse and worse the closer they force him to the LOS.

Note that for all the hoopla for Woods, he was no picnic either, and he at least gets to play his natural position.

Wilson should be taking over much of Heath's run defense responsibilities. Then people can spend their time complaining about Heath's poor kicking.
I agree he's a good cover safety and very few teams really have someone that can do that as well as he does. But he did have maybe the best play of the game near the LOS with that hit on Engram that forced an incomplete pass early in the game. Once in a while he'll make a play like that out of nowhere. The other teams TEs and 3rd WRs never do a lot against the Cowboys the last 2 years and that's in large part because our safeties take the middle of the field out of play.
