New HC Brian Schottenheimer: I'm ready now. I know what I want. I know what it looks like

He said it’s not about X’s and O’s? Oh boy

It’s a process
you know sometimes it's easy to criticize someone when you're not there, easy to not read into what he meant.

IMO he's saying that on all levels most coaches on this level know X and the O's. It's their careers and life...

BUT ITS more about the staff and players all believing and having the drive and passion to win..

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer on the type of people he's looking for: "We're looking for world class competitors. Guys that wanna compete every day to be the best version of themselves. We are looking for people with a relentless work ethic."

"You don't belong in this organization if you don't value relationships. This business has never been about Xs and Os. It's about people." "People that love this game. The game of football has given me so much, my family so much. But if you're not passionate about the game of football and the shield and what it represents... then you are probably in the wrong business."

So, this is what a loser looks like! This cat looks like he's coming down from a three-day bender. Probably over at Prescott's place, back slapping each other for playing JJ and his dimwit sons for the fools that they are. This dude got his start in the NFL because of his daddy and 25 years later he is still riding his coattails...............

I reserve judgement. But I agree with what he said about the passion.

Meanwhile, at a Dallas Cowboys future practice 2025 in California..

" Team looks pretty bad-Robin. "Might as well go back to the bat cave.....nothing to see here...

Notice how he answered this question? "We're" instead of I. He already knows everything goes through Jerral.
Team game. Including coaches. The problem is, the scouts and Stephen don’t know how to identify the right players the coaches need. I’m done saying Jerry, it’s all on Stephen. He should be a man and step in for his father so he doesn’t get all the heat. A good son would.

Blah, blah, bal, Jery and Stephen don't actually think anyone else can manage the team without their extreme input.

and he may have meant that, but lets be honest where will this FO be on the first week of FA this offseason? will this staff be showing drive and passion or on a yatch avoiding FA?

From talking to Jerry Jones:

— Deion Sanders was never a serious candidate to be the Cowboys’ next coach.

— It doesn’t sound like Jason Witten will be on the coaching staff.

— Brian Schottenheimer will call offensive plays.

— Jerry didn’t feel like he needed to meet with coaching candidates like Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn because Brian Schottenheimer has a better understanding of the Cowboys’ current situation. Jerry said he thinks Schottenheimer has the same skills as Johnson and Glenn.

This scares me!

What scares me more is a guy like this…emotional, players love, good guy, high energy…get chosen on those traits and not football traits. You have to imagine this has been his personality over 25 years and as his 14 as OC. So why did it never translate into more? No substance. The only fools buying are the Clampetts

Ole Shotty has tied his head coaching career to a narcissistic, meddling owner and a high-priced, but pedestrian QB coming off a significant injury requiring surgery, who requires a strong supporting cast to be successful.
To put even more pressure on himself, Shotty is talking about “championships” and Dake being “elite”…both of which seem highly unlikely. I understand a positive attitude…but the comments ring hollow and sounds like rhetoric since most of us fans know who is really calling the shots here.
