New HC Brian Schottenheimer: I'm ready now. I know what I want. I know what it looks like

Just play football fellas and stop yapping about it.
People who have it all together don't do that.
I think there is an infection of grandiosity at the Star.

From talking to Jerry Jones:

— Deion Sanders was never a serious candidate to be the Cowboys’ next coach.

— It doesn’t sound like Jason Witten will be on the coaching staff.

— Brian Schottenheimer will call offensive plays.

— Jerry didn’t feel like he needed to meet with coaching candidates like Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn because Brian Schottenheimer has a better understanding of the Cowboys’ current situation. Jerry said he thinks Schottenheimer has the same skills as Johnson and Glenn.

Saints preserve us.
Angels and ministers of grace defend us!

Poor guy could of had his hair in back fixed before he did the presser.

has to scrap Big Mikes offense.

need RB1, RB2, RG1, LT2

maybe RT1

need another excellent draft.

“You don't belong in this organization if you don't value relationships. This business has never been about Xs and Os. It's about people."

This is a football team. It should probably “be about the Xs and Os”
X’s and O’s don’t matter if you don’t have good players. And getting the Jones’ to realize they need to change how they get those good players is more of a people skill

and he may have meant that, but lets be honest where will this FO be on the first week of FA this offseason? will this staff be showing drive and passion or on a yatch avoiding FA?
You know it doesn't have to be the first week they just need to have a stronger offseason they don't have to be the first three players in free agency but they need to do more than just bring in kendricks who by the way played very good he was way above expectations and a bunch of has been defensive tackles /DE and a few corners who played OK but we need to just get some better versions of those types it doesn't have to be going after the same guy that 10 other teams are over bidding for I know that's what people think if it's not done in the first five days no they need to just get a better crop of free agents they need to make more of an effort before the draft a lot of those guys after kendricks were brought after the draft and they basically filled in from the draft this time they need to bring in a few extras but they don't need to go overboard...

Most of what was said by Brian Schottenheimer in his excitement and passion talking about Prescott and championships or just somebody being excited. Because that's his intent he said it if he's coaching for anything else why would he be there, but it's still hyperbole, it's just the way he feels at the time doesn't mean it's going to happen because you're right, the front office needs to give the coaching staff more support, but they don't need to go crazy..

I don't need to come up with a bunch of examples but I do know this the eagles overpaid for a defensive end got rid of their other one and they never got the production they got from the one they thought they could move on from and the one they brought over for free agency turned out to be average at best.. Bryce Huff 17mil a year and was bust so far..

And I realize the eagles made some good acquisitions I think Zach bahn is about equal to kendricks he's played very well but he was on a one year deal they had about the same expectations and they had about the same production.. Obviously it was Barkley who put them over the top that was the big shiny free agent that worked out but again you balance that with what Bryce huff didn't do that's what they're trying to avoid bringing over somebody that's had one Goodyear a contract year or look good and then you bring him over and he doesn't do anything in your system...

And trust me there are a lot of those failures in free agency where guys are severely overpaid, and they never produce at the beginning of some free agency five years ago that would be Von Miller dropped off the planet obj..

i mean even for the most par Clowney never lived up to any of his free agent contracts and there was a lot of trades for a lot of these wide receivers we were supposed to need at the trade deadline that never did a single thing for their teams that they went to lots of them...

So yes there's a fine line between going overboard and finding really good players at a reasonable price and yes that means navigating from budget minded to the middle but they don't need to go crazy and go get a guy like Bryce huff...

Yes be more aggressive be smarter they definitely need to do more and I believe because they're even saying it and they may not have the all in attitude some other teams have but I do believe in order to substantiate Brian schottenheimer they're gonna know they need to add a little bit stronger offseason for him to succeed and for to make them right..

he didn't say it didn't matter he said to quote that he knows X& Os he's good at X'S and O'S but he's better at as a people person ,about working with a group ,and trying to get the best out of them having relationships in this business..

that he's gonna bring on staff that will give him a better shot at success that's what he meant... you all just take this and run wherever you wanted to go because you feel like now he's saying he doesn't need to be a good coach, then he doesn't need to know football,

NO!, what he's saying he already has that that's a given that most coaches in this league already have a solid footing on schemes and how to develop their scheme for their roster ..

he's saying that it's more important to have relationships in this business in order to build your staff and then be able to work together towards a common goal..

that is exactly what he meant but you all take this as a negative... as usual you'll find a way to make everything negative.

The man at the press conference was using a lot of rhetoric and hyperbole because he was excited there was a group of core players there he was in front of the cameras he's first time he has his dream job and he's trying to say the right things and then you guys twist it out of control...

I agree with your assessment on what he was saying
correct!

he didn't say it didn't matter

he said to quote that he knows X& Os he's good at X'S and O'S, but he's better at as a people person, hes learned over 24 years preparing for this moment that this was AS IMPORTANT, about working with a group ,and trying to get the best out of them having relationships in this business..

that he's gonna bring on staff that will give him a better shot at success that's what he meant... you all just take this and run wherever you wanted to go because you feel like now he's saying he doesn't need to be a good coach, then he doesn't need to know football,

What is crazy about the quote on the title is that you can replace the source with JJ and we will believe that he would say that.
