New kickoff rule makes Turpin more impactful

The NFL is utterly bipolar on what it wants to do with kick-offs. One year, they don't want returns because it's too dangerous, the next they try to do something to encourage more returns. Make up your mind, already!
It's to a point of ridiculousness. They are better off leaving the rules the way they were 2 years ago when a touch back put the ball on the 20. They are complicating the game.

What' s going to happen is he'll get it to the 35 yard line or before the 35 yard line, thus resulting in NO better results, only thing is that you'll actually see someone running with the ball instead of taking a knee!
If Turpin has it in his hands he could in theory take it to the house just as well. But they should have never changed it from the way it already was. Tradition is slowly eroding in the game.

I honestly hate the new kickoff setup. Put the kickoff team back at their own 30, kick the ball, touch back would be at the 20 again and that's that.
While I am at it, I don't like the new playoff rules either. First score wins and that's that.

None of this ufl 3rd world country style crap. Play the game and live on
This 100%!!! ^^^ :hammer:

Right? This will give Aubrey the chance to have more impact actually. We'd only need to get to the 50 for him to be in range.
Wonder if No-Schott will be as willing as McCarthy to give Aubrey 65+ attempts.

They probably think hi speed collisions are reduced since blocking teams dont get running starts.

Might as well just have the runner start at the 0 yard line during kickoffs. He can either kneel for the automatic placement or take it for a chance at the better field position. /s

As dangerous as Turpin is some teams will kick deep anyway.
.not sure about that, our kicker is even better than our KR.all we need is 20 yards to be in FG range.its a matter of picking the lesser poison.

All Turpin has to do is make one defender miss and he reaches at least the 35. It’s a gamble kicking to anyone with his kind of speed. We won’t need our kicker if he takes it to the house.

They need to change the onside kick rule to add some drama. The odds of the kicking team recovering an onside kick under the current rule is extremely slim.

These rule changing committees should only meet every five years, not multiple times every year. Sometimes I think they mess with the game just to be messing. Leave the game alone! The powers that be are ruining our beloved football.
