What I don't understand, though, is this:
If the media and many others believe Hardy did what he's accused of, and is as crazy as they want to make him out to be, it would be a pretty clear sign of a mental health issue. So why demonize him? Is that going to help him as a person? Granted, it is not anyone's responsibility to make him a better person, but the constant "he's a piece of crap" attacks aren't going to help someone with a mental disorder. so, if you truly believe he's as bad as you say he is, you're potentially making everything worse.
