I was talking about her not doing enough to get the Cowboys to come to Dallas, if you read about it, Stephen Jones contacted Dallas first, trying to get the stadium built there, she did not want to do that so said no, they probably would be in Dallas if she had been for it. Im not an idiot I know she had nothing to do with them leaving Irving

I'm nowhere near a fan of the "Princess of potholes" or "Madam No" as she's been referred but let's be honest. Cowboys asked for $450 million from Dallas, wanted a response in 2 months (As opposed to the 2 years it took the Cowboys to come up with their offer) and wanted to keep all revenue.

Arlington then was offered a deal at $325 million with the Cowboys keeping all revenues. Only other city who had to pay more for a stadium than Arlington was Houston and they didn't have a choice...not only that, but Houston got the training facility, offices, etc. Cowboys are keeping theirs in Irving. Where Arlington did have an advantage over Dallas is taxing those in DFW-Int. airport because it's located in Tarrant county, as oppsed to Dallas being in Dallas county, i.e. you'll be taxing your own instead of outsiders...not that if everything went Miller's way she would have said yes, just explaining why I won't question her in why they're not building there.

So while I'm glad to see Arlington get the deal, truth is they got royally ripped off, especially since Pittsburgh and New England made their respective cities pay $80 million each for their stadiums.

BTW - Welcome to the forum!

Well that makes since, I had not heard that the Joneses had tried to get Dallas to sign off on it so quick, but looking back, it did seem to move very fast from proposal to Jones taking it to Arlington. I still would like to see them move back to the city of Dallas some day just for traditions sake and I think it would be cool to have the games in fair park and downtown again but doesnt look like that will happen in the next 30, still overall I think the new stadium will be pretty good, i will miss the open air and the big hole but im sure we will gain a lot with the new stadium, and they are still the Dallas Cowboys. Thanks for the info.
