ok fine, i guess.

but this is nothing more than a camp signing. no way he ends up being any better than the #5 guy, if that.

He looks like a cross of Keyshawn and Michael Irvin to me. Almost like it was a photoshop merge of the two of them

Sorry, for some reason DirecTV has never showed any games played by Victor Valley Community College...

As soon as I submit this post, I plan on firing off a VERY nasty letter to DirecTV about this mind-blowing oversight... :D

On yesterday's Talkin Cowboys, Mickey was saying he was a basketball player with a limited background in football. So he was pretty raw coming out of JUCO, he needed those four years in the CFL to develop. 27 catches in four games before getting hurt last season.(broken ankle or foot) Has a nice size/speed combination.

Yes. He's a Cowboy

Thanks, hadn't heard that yet. I love moves like this, it's always nice to pick up guys like that and bring them to camp to see if they're good enough. If they look like they aren't going to adjust to the progame then you can cut them without a second thought and if they show promise then you could possibly have a fine player on your hands for practically nothing.

...when my son scored some complimentary tickets.

He has to be a special teams demon and take Fowler's spot to make the roster.

There's good foot speed, but you have to be careful when evaluating WR from the CFL. The rules up here allow a receiver to be on the move prior to the snap and let them avoid any initial bump off the line.

Also, the field is so big that it's not hard to get open. The time between a catch and a big hit is usually longer than in the NFL. YAC is very common in the league.

His route running would be similar to any CFL receiver. Not very precise. Why does it have to be when the field is the size of Green Acres?

I would suspect they would have him in as a developmental player hoping to secure a spot on the special teams roster first and then displaying his receiving ability. The only good thing about Jamel would be that he's not a true rookie so maybe the team won't be dealing with some of the immaturity of a draft pick. He should be able to buy his own groceries and get an apartment with little help. In short he should be a professional already.

Word to the wise, he's been in Canada for three years and he hasn't taken this league by storm. I'm not expecting much here.

Keep an eye on this "obscure" signing. The guy was coming into his own in the CFL. Great size & hands. I can see him making the team. We're either old or inexperienced at WR. He chose us over the Colts.
