Newman as WR

That's right, just like the title says. What are your thoughts of using Newman on occasion as a WR. Bear in mind, I'm not proposing he become our #3 or even 4 receiver, just that he make an appearance on that side of the ball every once in a while.

I think it's a good idea.

Parcells used him a few times at wr but mainly as a decoy. I don't remember him ever catching a pass.

Which is what I'm suggesting. He could run a fly route up he middle from the slot...and just try to out run someone--or run the reverse. He's dangerous on punts....why not hand him the ball a time or two? I wasn't implying he run a slant across the middle, yeags. It's the offseason, just trying to add some character to the team and conversation to the board.

lol i don't want to see anyone ever talk about how bad eagle fans are, or how classy we are.....

most of you act like little girls on there period...why does he have to get attacked over making a suggestion? i swear most of you act like you are forced too read these threads....go out, get a job, get a girl, play a few sports...it does wonders

if newman could show hes still a threat with his speed...hed make a great decoy....who knows he could maybe burn a person or 2

but i think hes far to valuable on D to risk it.....players may take shots

I think the reason he's not used that way is he is to valuable to the defense to risk using him as a wr or pr.

I think this was one of the few what if's that has some merit to it.

Fair enough. I still contend we should have a play or two for him in the playbook, including a reverse. He's just that dangerous. And if it's the last game, nothing else is working, then what do you have to lose....?

with his speed I'm sure there is a reason he is a cb and not a wr.....HANDS. He doesn't seem to have the best of hands.
