I want to know what happened on the sideline and why the hell Newman was not benched for pushing his coach? That is crap.

Not sure either, but Newman IS our best CB and it would be hard to bench him....however, a player should never shove his coach......

Also, a coach needs to understand that in the heat of the game, he should use his words correctly.

Has anyone heard what happened? I for one am glad to see Campo get in his face. We need more of that. Now if someone would do that to the offense.

it didn't look like newman pushed campo...

I figure campo was pissed about newman messing up coverage on that third and 10+ prior to the Commanders first down.

Newman should get suspended by the team for that. It was one of the most unprofessional things I have ever seen by a player on this team.

He gave up his 25th 3rd and long and Campo lost it.

I believe you are right and he should have been pissed. Also I think he definitely pushed him that is why Campo pulled his headset off. He was about to go after him but Newman was pulled away quickly.

Would be great to get an animated gif or clip of the incident.

Dave Campo seemed very aggressive and agitated each time they showed him on the sidelines.

I don't think it is that big of a deal as players and coaches are constantly going at it on the sidelines when things aren't going well.

As an ex coach I promise you if one of my players ever pushed he his day would be over.

Giving up these 3rd and longs needs to end. I'm starting to think it's all on the players. Happens every damn game.

I have never seen a player shove a coach before today. Worst I had seen before that was Ditka and a Bears player yelling at each other with f words obviously flying.

I guess I'm old fashioned. I believe the coaches are to be respected by the players of the team or you have no team. If the coach gets in your face its for your own good because you are screwing up, and need your *** chewed out. To choose to shove the coach in a situation like that suggesting you are ready to fight all 5 feet nothing of Dave Campo is pathetic.

It's the NFL.

While I agree with you, who would you put in there?

I'm kinda torn on this issue as you can't allow a player to get away with that....however, they showed them on the sidelines later and there didn't seem to be anything going on.....maybe this is par for the course.....I don't know.

True, but I wonder if we have "those" kind of coaches on the Dallas Staff.

If Newman did push his position coach, he was way out of line.

But like someone else in this thread stated, the altercation between Campo and Newman are the least of our worries.

I was more annoyed with Campo and the other coach, along with Wade Phillips, yelling at the Referees when they were reviewing the Campbell out of bounds play. I thought the NFL was cracking down on Assistants talking to the refs?

I would like to see a replay of the incident before passing judgement.

Again, it is a known fact that Coaches and Players get into heated arguments all the time and I am sure this isn't the first time a player had responded the way Newman "supposedly" did.

Doesn't make it right but I just want to see the replay and maybe get some accounts from those on the sidelines before making a judgement.

I disagree with this.

If a Coach doesn't punish a player solely because of his value to the team, it sends the wrong message.

If you lose a game in the NFL because ou pulled a player, you have some answering to do....especially when one game can keep you out of the playoffs....don't forget that money runs this business....it IS NOT a "game" at this level. It's not even a "game" at the collegiate level.

It was extremely out of character for him. Something else must have happened that we don't know about.

And if you have a superior who understands anything about Leadership and holding guys accountable, that "answering to do" conversation should be brief and understood by the superior.

The day you start letting "players" know that you will tolerate insubordination will be the day you look back on as the exact moment that led up to you being fired.
