Maybe Campo should order the CBs to cover tight instead of 10 yds off and maybe the CBs would not be pissed with him.

He didn't just push him once he pushed him twice.
That's what happens when you have the players running the team. I've always liked Newman but that was totally classless.

And if you have a superior who understands anything about Leadership and holding guys accountable, that "answering to do" conversation should be brief and understood by the superior.

The day you start letting "players" know that you will tolerate insubordination will be the day you look back on as the exact moment that led up to you being fired.

This is a team that is run from the top down....NOT from the field up.

Proof is that JJ wanted Felix to get more carries....notice the first half?

Having said that, I agree with you....but that ISN'T the way it is with THIS team.

If that is true, I believe Newman has to be punished.

I think you sit the guy down for at least 1 Quarter but a more appropriate punishment would be a 1 game suspension if he pushed his position coach multiple times.

I agree.

I'm just speaking "theoretically".

If I was an Owner/GM, I wouldn't want an explanation from my Head Coach about why he suspended a player for assaulting his position coach.

If Newman did push his position coach multiple times, I think it does more harm to the team to not punish him then losing a game because you did punish him.

However, I will not make any judgements. Something could have happened in Newman's personally life that made him act out of character.

He definitely pushed him, but for some reason Fox refused to show the replay of the shove. They kept showing what came after. I think Newman should be fined (by the Cowboys). Big. At least $15,000. That might sound harsh, but it's time to send a message to these players.

If he assaulted his coach, he should be more then fined.

I disagree with this.

If a Coach doesn't punish a player solely because of his value to the team, it sends the wrong message.

It's not like it's a consistent problem, but eventually it will be. Knowing your value and the receding lines you can cross because of it.

I figure campo was pissed about newman messing up coverage on that third and 10+ prior to the Commanders first down.

It looked a lot like Newman pushed campo.

True, but it is like everything else, it becomes easier the 2nd time.

It is totally out of character for Newman to do this, if he he did, but you cannot assault a member of the coaching staff.

That's what I'm saying. To ignore this incident will just be more problems down the road and value be damned, he should be punished. Obviously money is no object to people who have tons of it, so they'd better figure something out.

I must have just misunderstood you.

I agree wholeheartedly, it should be interesting to see some of the reactions once a video or gif is provided.

I would have sent him to the showers and gone on without him.

What he did was classless, you don't let emotions overtake you to the point of putting hands on a coach...

And THAT is why you aren't in control of a MONEY run business.

I missed this supposed shove as well. I saw Campo in his face, and then they were separated, and then Campo flipped a bit and took his headphones off. At that point he wasn't anywhere close enough to be pushed by Newman.

When was the shove?

Wrong. What is wrong is if nothing happens to Newman over this. Campo was doing his job by yelling at a player for not doing his job. everyone on this board is always asking for someone to show some emotion from the coaches and this is what happens when they do? That was a huge play that changed field position and if he screwed up he needs his *** chewed on. If Newman can't handle that then he needs to be shipped out of here ASAP.
