I'll give you top 5, I'm not going any lower than that.

Well then you got a LOT of reconciling to do with reality. Good luck with that.

Ummmm, the only "unbiased" source you quoted is ESPN and they have Newman ranked 21 among the league's CBs.

It's an insider article, but you should be able to see the top 10 without an account and he's not there.

You are aware that ESPN is notoriously anti-cowboys, right? You are aware that ESPN has more than one writer, or source, right? I'm simply showing you that by stating that there are NO sources that list Newman as a top 10 CB, you've made yourself look foolish. There are several, as I've pointed out, that I found within 30 seconds...I'm sure there are more.

Ummmm, the second two had him in their underrated lists, and that can mean anything. He's a good player that hasn't been called good enough, or a great player that's only thought of as good.

And that all-pro list was from a year ago. I mean, Vick was a pro bowl QB and Delhomme was one of the best QBs in the NFC, I think you need to come up with a more recent source to be taken seriously.

Anyways, stop whining about being so misunderstood. ESPN hates us, wah! Everyone thinks their team, when they aren't one of the best in the league and being told so, is constantly bashed. Cowboys have gotten plenty of good press this season.

Just FYI, Espn Scouts have not updated their rankings. If you look at the list, you'll see some of the players don't even have numbers next to them.

Outside of that, and not to get too deep into this discussion, do you really believe all these guys are better than Newman. Some of whom were injured thoughout 2006?

Okay, you just keep on thinking that Newman is the second or third best corner in the league, that reality is considerably less populated then the one I live in.

then why even attempt to argue in this thread, because thats what the first post was about. the economical impact of future newman contract. i see you're just the type of poster who wants to argue about anything.

Threads evovle...and sometimes, to those not clinging for dear life to an agenda, peoples points of view do to. Not yours apparently.

I was responding to another post. I addressed that post. You then addressed my post. Now, if I'm so wrong in addressing that post, why did you address mine?

If you'd like to go back and see what type of poster I am, feel free to look up my archives. I don't feel it necessary to be approved by you or anyone else on this board...its not a requirement. I do, however, try and keep an even keel. If I've gone overboard I'm sure the mods will address it. There's no need for you to.

Okay, the only ones that don't have numbers in front of their names in the top 10 is Nate Clements and Chris McAlister. If you think Newman is going to hop 15 places to take their places, I really can't help you.

Yes, they do. And they all seem to evolve into one of like 5 subjects here. Wade Phillips' D vs. Parcells' D. A Skins player vs. a Boys player. Romo's pro- or re-gression. JJ vs. MBIII. And if it's going to be a better defense or just more exciting.

I don't need your help, because I'm not the one arguing he's top 5. Though I believe if Clements is there, then certainly Newman should be. Their numbers are virtually equal.

Besides it's not about hopping 15 spaces. It's the fact that you used list this as a source when, in reality, it's not even complete. The list is bound to be shuffled if they do a review of 2006. There are guys who were injured, who missed games, and some, that are within the Top 10 who got beat like a drum last year. It's just a flawed list that shouldn't have even been used as a point of reference. Your bad.

I agree that DeAngelo shouldn't have been there. He's the Rex Grossman of the CB world.

Actually we haven't had that many skins player vs boys player threads this offseason.

We've had alot of general NFL stuff dominating the board. The dog threads, the suspension threads, nfl retiree threads, etc.

Again, true. I've managed to stay away form those threads for the most part though. After reading through that epic thread invovling fuzzy and bob, I lost a few years off of my life expectancy.

"Scouts, Inc., has evaluated and graded more than 2,400 NFL players heading into the 2004 season, giving Insiders a leg up on the competition with exclusive grades, alerts and scouting reports."

Now what do you say, Stink fan? Do you not read the fine print? Did you just google this and post without looking at the time frame?

If what I read, it says "the 2004" season...! I know you are living in the great St. Gibbs era...but THIS IS 2007.

Get a clue...hell, get two or three!
