"Multiple sources" who have no idea, haven't seen the MRI, and are speculating blindly.

Good article.
I suspect no one in the world knows until there is another MRI and see how it looks a week later
Then a decision can be made based on real info and not speculation
If it looks like it's going to be 6 or 8 weeks then he will go on IR, if it's progressing to the point it looks like he can be back in a few weeks then he wont

Time of injury. Bones take six weeks to heal.

This story is dumb. If Dallas is 1-3, he'll be there in week five.
I'd tend to agree with this. If we get off to a slow start with Dak , Romo will be itching to get back in there. We'll come up with some kind of protective gear for broke back.

Yeah, you said he'd be out there for Week One as I recall.

I'm still willing to make a bet on that.

I said I wouldn't be surprised.. Still wouldn't.

I know how Romo and Witten are and unless this injury is worse than reported I expect Romo to be back sooner rather than later.

I think you're the only one at this point.

Well, David Carr who had the same injury said he could play week 1 so there is at least 2 that doesn't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

I wouldn't bet on it or anything. I'm thinking the over or under is at 3 games missed.

Then again, you called the game where he got injured the "perfect night" and scolded everybody else to "calm down".

That was when he was said to be fine, before the MRI. It's the information that was on hand at the time, and he was politicking to get back on the field.

I was concerned before that game because I knew Seattle was going to go after him (as you saw their sheer delight when he was injured; they were so happy and excited). So when it appeared he was OK, I considered it a blessing to get out of that game healthy. The MRI turned out to be different.

Hey, we could be dealing with a Teddy Bridgewater scenario. He nearly died on the practice field.

They said on The Cowboys Break that he felt fine and decided to go to the doctor the next day for the heck of it and was surprised that he had a fracture.

I think Romo feels ok and could play. Just my opinion.

Then maybe you should have waited until you had the facts before making your declaration and giving everybody else advice, eh?

Yeah, that sounded really scary there. Glad to hear that he should fully recover.

But his situation doesn't change our own. We have the most injury prone quarterback in the league, whether fans want to accept that fact or not.

We need to start planning accordingly.

Yes you did heed the warnings .

Imagine if that was the opener and he probably would have came back in and it could have been his last game to ever play if he was hit again. Perhaps a godscent it happened in preseason.

I'm uncertain he can sustain a 16 game season again.

We all have that concern. I want to see him take some tough "normal" hits (that one was awkward and somewhat fluky) and get up and play on. I want to see him land on that shoulder without the collar bone breaking. I want to see him escape a few pockets in vintage Romo style and complete some passes.

Until then, we won't really know. I bet he wants the same.

you really believe that? when is the last time you fractured a bone and felt fine the next day?

The Cowboys said he was fine. Tony said he was fine. Garrett said he was fine.

Am I supposed to wait for a Constitutional Amendment?

Think, McFly!

Perhaps but take a stern sober look at how the optimistic side the club throws out constantly versus the reality that plays out. When is the last time the optimistic view was right and better yet, best for the player? Not often.

but, but, but Dez wasn't out as long as they said he would be.

Nevermind he was entirely limited, pretty much ineffective, and probably should have been out.

I have a doctor friend who has worked in sports medicine. He said there are numerous players that play with injuries of this nature and aren't even aware of it. Compression fractures in the spine are fairly common. He said NFL players constantly play with soft tissue injuries, sprains, and other things that aren't diagnosed initially, if at all.

Such rational common sense reasoning...that's not allowed here.

Don't preach to me, I'm not the one who chastised everybody about it and ended up looking foolish. Maybe you should have your facts straight before you run your mouth (or your fingers)?

I didn't look foolish, and still don't. You're inability to understand that is not my responsibility.
