I'd offer clevelands #1 and another pick for Roy Williams in a HEARTBEAT. If Millen bit on that... he's dumber than I thought. Fitzgerald is very good, but Roy Williams is a force in the right system. He would be a great partner for Romo.

The thing about Fitzgerald is he hasn't even scratched all of his potential and hes already a pro bowler. 24 years old..... You cant beat that.

Fitz for Cleve's 1st would be a steal. EVERY draft pick is a crap shoot. At least w/ Fitz you know you are getting a high character, hard working bonafied #1 WR. That's worht a 1st everytime.

Let's see.....am I going to believe something from PFT as the basis for getting Fitzgerald?

Answer....no. Arizona would be incredibly dumb to let this guy go....and they are not that dumb. I'll believe this when I see it.
They were one of the first places reporting that we'd sign Tank Johnson. I remember people laughing that off.

The Cardinals have 36 players under contract for 2008, taking up just over 86 million dollars in cap room. If the cap is 116 million as projected that means they will have 30 million dollars UNDER the cap.

Still think Fitzgerald is going anywhere? Even in a run oriented offense?

I don't know. I think Arizona may actually be that dumb. They have done plenty of dumb things over the years. He may not end up in Dallas, but it would not surprise me if the Cardinals stupidly let him go by trade or free agency.

He's not a FA till 2010, who knows how much cap space they'll have. If the Cards aren't a playoff team by then, he may want to leave.

I don't believe Fitzgerald is going anywhere, unless he has absolutely no desired to be with the Cards.

That does not guarantee us getting him. Opening him up to FA would allow someone else to really overpay for him. If we trade for him, I'm sure it would also be on the condition that a long-term contract has already been hammered out and avoid an all-out bidding war.....

IMO, if we don't win the super bowl, it won't be because of our WRs. Would he be worth a first, yes. I even agree, if we really needed a WR, I'd part with Cleveland's pick for him, he's that good, but to be honest, the only thing keeping our offense from being great, is a running game we can lean on.

And JMO, Owens may be 33, but has shown no signs of slowing down. I believe he has atleast 2 or 3 pro-bowl seasons left, and good WRs can be found on the open market. Over the last few years Plaxico Burress, Santana Moss, Randy Moss, Laverneous Coles and Javon Walker have all become available over the last few years.

Draft a WR early, let him develop for a few years, it's not like we're desperate for a WR, and then make a decision.

That was the impetus behind the original report. He reportedly wants out of Arizona.

Maybe Whisenhunt turns their season around. Otherwise, I think he'll want out of Arizona regardless of what kind of money they could throw at him.

What would it take to get Michael Turner from SD? Isn't he an unrestricted FA next year like JJ? We wouldn't have to give up a pick for him and still could make the Fitzgerald trade. Another option is to take a RB w/ our 2nd-4th rounder and go w/ MBIII as the lead back if JJ leaves. My whole preference towards Fitz is that he's already a proven player and still very young. He's the "sure thing" unlike anyone we could draft w/ Cleveland's pick next year, McFadden included.....
