You want to beat all the teams you should beat. Then, get better players.

This is actually one of the things I like best about JG as a HC. He wins all the games we should win. We've lost against good QBs because we can't keep them from passing more efficiently than we do.

At some point it is the job of the head coach to keep the other team from passing more efficiently, especially when that head coach is in his 4th season.

Ultimately its on the head coach and he is responsible for his team......................I think that is what most people are saying about Garrett this year.

That's definitely correct. Though it's not what most people are saying about Garrett this year. Or any year, for that matter. Most complain about the play calling or the offense.

For the last three years, the issue has been the performance of the defense under Garrett, and he's made missteps and not done enough to fix it. And he hasn't done enough this year, either, though we are showing signs of at least finally playing better. And I've said this in every defense of the HC I've ever given.

But, to my point you quoted, we do beat the teams we're better than. The question is, in my mind, can we assemble enough talent in Dallas to be better than most teams? I don't know the answer to that, and unfortunately, our owner is a hindrance in that regard in a lot of ways. I do think that Jason's shown more signs of being able to accomplish assembling talent and building the team the right way than the other guys Jerry's brought in not named 'Bill.' And he shows more signs of being able to continue to do it than do most candidates available off the street in any given NFL off-season.

I'm not pulling anywhere.

What I'm clearly and unequivocally saying is that they won't win this game.

My fandom doesn't require me to lie to myself or to check my senses at the door.

I know that they're just not good enough.

So Cleveland is better than us, because they found a way to beat this so called juggernaut.................................I cant accept that, if Cleveland can do it then we should be able to do it as well.

I think this game is the most important game of Garrett's coaching career.

If we win this game, which I think we have a legit shot at, then Houston the following week should be a W as well. That would put us at 4-1 and as previously stated, teams that go 4-1 make the playoffs about 80% of the time and if Garrett makes the playoffs this year he will get his extension, almost everybody agrees with that.

Minny was fairly close to handling them, too. The Saints drove on them early, but then they settled down and contained that offense pretty well from then on out. And that's with a suspect defense of their own. That was a 4 point game in the fourth quarter before the Saints finally pulled it away to a two possession game.

Exactly.................maybe I am being overly optimistic, but I think we can beat these guys.

I hear that Cleveland has this thing called a defense. If we can ever get one of those, we might have a shot.

I used to do very well betting on the NFL. I quit years ago because you cannot tell who will win on any given Sunday anymore. If I knew who would win then I'd own a big sailboat with a Panamanian flag or whatnot. Will play the game and then rinse and repeat.

I've been on the fence with Garrett for years now. But you aren't going to win games with the defensive talent on the field we have. You can cry about everyone has injuries but you can't field a team with most of the injuries on one side of the ball especially with one already playing with a talent deficit.

Blame Jones for putting us in a huge talent hole over the years and blame the football gods for a bad run of luck.

I know people are going to say oh the Saints are 1-2. That's fine. I don't care. They're going to have all kinds of miss match problems for us.

We can't cover TE's hardly anyone has even heard of so what do you think Jimmy Graham is going to do to this team? It's going to be ugly

I have more confidence in a Payton-led saints team at 1-2 than a Garrett-led cowboys team at 2-1.

End of day both teams at .500

Great point. If Garrett can pull out a winning season with this roster, he will have gained my respect. The defense is seriously devoid of talent.

Yes I am, I can only go by when he became coach. To think he hasn't changed the entire roster almost completely is non sense. That 1-7 team coming off a playoff win last in the divisional round because the OL. Garrett has rebuilt the entire OL, RB, WR and TE position besides Witten. Defense had almost all new players as well. Why you think we are 4th youngest team in the league.

I get it let's just count last season and not Garrets entire head coaching tenure

Anyone would have rebuilt it over those four years. He is a .500 coach, doesn't say much for his ability to rebuild.

Good call on that. Didn't realize they were so far off this year. I stand corrected on that one.

I honestly think the Saints win 6 or 7 games this year. They have looked really really bad against really really bad teams

Lol Browns are giving up 26 points a game. Theyre 1-2. They lost to Pitt and Balt neither have a great offense. Lol
