Next year

Next year another year of your life will have passed. For some, it could be the last year of their lives.
This year with the Cowboys was a disappointment; last year was a disappointment. The past ten years have brought nothing but disappointment. The past thirty years have allowed you to see the fall of an empire while the rich got richer and the fans paid for it.
And now, Dak and Jerry want you to "wait till next year" again.
And next year will be a disappointment, too.
Nothing has changed, nothing will change.
But Dak, Jerry, and Stephen want you to wait till next year, again.
And at the end of next year, you will once again be asked,
Wait till next year.
And you will once again be flooded with "MVP" chants, and "This is our year!" cries every time the Cowboys beat up on a cellar dwellers. Once again the Cowboys will accept the Super Bowl trophy early, only to have to give it back at the end.
Welcome to next year.
This uplifting Holiday greetings brought to you by “First you leeblair and then you die. A fan club for sad sacks by sad sacks”

This forum is starting to be nothing but Dak threads and complain about Jerry threads.

Can the mods force people to tag threads with Dak and Jerry so the rest of us can filter this stuff out?

we should have a separate place for Dak and NGM threads so that real football could be discussed in the Fan Zone

If this were the last season with Jerry Jones and Cap Boy in this organization, I would literally weep with joy, and gladly embrace the offseason with more hope and excitement since hearing we were getting the Big Tuna.

Will they bring Cooper Rush back?

Another season of disappointment.

But I take solace in the fact that Jerry and the OP are a year older.

That is going to happen with or without the Cowboys in your life.
I think you have to consider not being as invested in the Cowboys so as to put that time to better use.
It's happening organically anyway. Fans are tired of the circus.
I wonder if it has hit Jerry yet that he may have made money, but he has destroyed something that money can't buy back?
I don't think he realizes the extent of the damage he has done.
But he will; soon.

You got my like after your first two sentences because I could be one of those people.
One of the top posts of the year!!

Meh, whatever. It's all of our choices to still be engaged. No one's wrong for buying the cheese and no one's wrong for doubting the cheese will be sour. Just laugh at my jokes and agree that Dez didn't catch it, lol.
Yup.

Some of us tried to warn fans about Eber.

Really, he’s the reason the season was wrecked.

Shotty was powerless to do anything about it.

Sitting in on D meetings wouldn’t fix that mess.

It exposes the problems in Dallas.

And people wonder why some of us old time fans are jaded and have lost interest.
Only because we have seen first hand what the team can do.

It blows me away that fans 30 years of age or younger really have never seen the Dallas Cowboys win 2 post season games in one season.

I mean the Steelers have at least two superbowl wins this century.

That said, you know you're getting old when you start living in the past.

Not going to say I'm losing interest, I just don't have any optimism left and know for whatever reason, sooner or later in the season, Jerry is going to play the circus ringleader and blow it. We were lucky enough that he hired Jimmy as his first hire at least. My only prayer is that when Jerry is 6' under, Stephen isn't an apple that didn't fall far from the tree (since I've never lived in Texas, no clue what the rest of the family is like, but from what I read here, Stephen sad to say is a chip off the old block).

One thing I have noticed that I never seemed to noticed 20 years ago. I see more Eagles fans in the oppositions stadiums recently. Really wish Jerry would take note of that because it used to be the same when the cowboys played. Times sure have changed.
