NFC Championship droughts

I didn’t say JJ is undeserving of his HOF “contributor” appointment for his business genius. I just wanted to say that’s ALL he got in for.
I wasn't saying you did. There were a few asking why he got in, I was mostly just agreeing with you.

As long as we as fans keep enabling the Jones with more money, it's hard to see things changing for the better.
I really don’t even think it’s about that. The profits are guaranteed on the TV deals alone. Yeah merch sales could drop but not enough to ever be problematic for him. The ticket sales are secured with long term deals and PSLs. Sponsors would still line up if they went 0-17 for years.

It’s probably more about not allowing someone the shot to prove he was the problem all along, and honestly believing that he is doing a great job and no one could do better.

Hands out record deals, then smugly and arrogantly claims no one else could get that done.

They’ve already made it twice since 1996. Speaking of which…

Philadelphia is at 8 since 1996
Carolina is at 3
Chicago 2
Green Bay… 7?
Minnesota 3
Atlanta 4
NYG 3
LAR 4
NO 3
TB 3
SF… 7?
Seattle 3
Arizona 2
Detroit 1
Washington 1

So Dak needs to make an NFC before Jayden Daniels and Jared Goff or the entire NFC will have lapped Dallas twice

It’s not an indictment on him or Romo it’s and indictment on the 2 bozos running things

I’d like to hope we can do it this year but that would require significant improvement and dime store shopping in FA isn’t a good start

At least we don't have the longest drought in the NFL. I think 1992 was the last time the Dolphins got to a championship game.

It

It's really unbelievable that this team remains as popular as it is for as sorry as we have been this century.
Jerry has been one of the greatest salesmen of his day.
A real modern version of P.T. Barnum.
I think many are just casual uneducated fans....who wouldn't know a first down from a Touchdown.....trumping up those numbers. And then of course are the real fans...who really have no choice but root for their team, and just be miserable.

Being a true fan of a football team is a weird thing. You can't just tell yourself "stop liking this team"

I maybe Fan is the wrong word. Addict is more like it

True. The other two….Houston didn’t exist until 2002, and Cleveland was out of the league for four years.

Elite company.

He did preside over 3 SB wins.
Now I know he was just supporting Jimmy, but he did have a hand in them.
He has both hands on the last 29 seasons.
Absolutely!
It's been an epic failure.

I hear ya!
I will say my enthusiasm had really diminished.

Question for all you youngsters under 30. Would you erase two or three Cowboys superbowls before you were born, if you could gain one since you’ve been alive?

This is the crap fans need to see more of. This franchise is a door mat.
Here’s some simple perspective:
  • First 36 years of Cowboys football = 31 playoff wins, 8 NFC championships, 5 SB wins
  • Last 29 years of Cowboys football = 5 playoff wins, 0 NFC championships, zero SBs.
