Three score game.................

Now we see what kind of "finishers" the Cardinals are.

Don't blow this.......................

5. When a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines without being touched by the receiving team, the ball belongs to the receivers 30 yards from the spot of the kick or at the out-of-bounds spot unless the ball went out-of-bounds the first time an onside kick was attempted. In this case, the kicking team is penalized five yards and the ball must be kicked again.
It's in this paragraph because if a player is standing out of bounds (or any part of him is touching out of bounds) and the ball hits him, then the ball is considered out of bounds.

So on a kickoff where the ball hits a receiver who is out of bounds (without hitting anybody else in bounds), it is considered a kickoff out of bounds.

On the example from this particular game, I am of the opinion that the ball did not hit the Eagle player's fingers on the way down and that it did hit his forearm when his feet were out of bounds. Maybe I am right, maybe I am wrong on that matter. But I assure you my interpretation of the rules is correct. :)

I thought it should have been an ejection. I mean, it wasn't your run-of-the-mill late hit. It was a 100% cheap shot on a defenseless QB, pure and simple.

I completely agree but the refs blew that one, which is why I think the front office steps in and hands him a hefty fine. Had Demps taken the same cheap shot at Romo in this situation - this board would be undergoing nuclear meltdown by now.

Am I the only person who can't keep their mind off the AFC Championship game?

If the Steelers make it, I might cry.

Look, I'm over it, but it most certainly does. The ball's rotation CHANGES direction after hitting his left forearm. It's simple physics. I'm not making anything up here.
I am not saying who is right or wrong as far as the posters on the Zone, we all are entitled to our own opinions. My point is that a play like that NEEDS to be reviewed. For the play to be "unreviewable" is a joke. The refs themselves should be able to asked for a review on a close call like that. The NFL needs to seriously look at changing some of the rules regarding replay this offseason :)

You are correct on BOTH counts. It did hit him, and by rule, since he was out of bounds when it did, it's dead ball, first and ten, receiving team.

Yeah, that's what im worried about. I hope they don't get conservative and wishing the clock runs out. They have to keep attacking.

Fox just said that Mike P admitted that his ref was probably wrong on that kickoff call.
