NFC Championship: Eagles - 25 vs Cardinals - 32 Game Thread

ROFlmao at the iggles "vaunted" defense. Jim Johnson looks lost.

And Chris Berman is curled up in the fetal position sucking his thumb somewhere since his fat buddy fat andy is getting his **s handed to him.

How many more cheap shots can the iggles execute in the 2nd half?

The officials own themselves yet again. That's like the SD/Denver game all over again. Horrible call by the official, but it cant be reviewed cause of the horrible call by the official.

You are correct on BOTH counts. It did hit him, and by rule, since he was out of bounds when it did, it's dead ball, first and ten, receiving team.

Yes, that's all true. That's not what he's saying though. He's saying that it should be dead ball, penalty, ball placed on the 40, first and ten, receiving team. Sorry, but I still don't buy that interpretation (and neither did the officials on the field, and Fox just reported on Pereira's comment and didn't mention it then).

I am not saying who is right or wrong as far as the posters on the Zone, we all are entitled to our own opinions. My point is that a play like that NEEDS to be reviewed. For the play to be "unreviewable" is a joke. The refs themselves should be able to asked for a review on a close call like that. The NFL needs to seriously look at changing some of the rules regarding replay this offseason :)

I agree. The amount of time they spent yapping about it would have easily offered them a glimpse or two at the big screens above. If the objective is to get the right call, they should have seen how close it was, and reviewed it regardless of what "the call on the field" was.

I hope the Cardinals even "step it up" and totally embarrass my #1 Hate of all time..............

I want a 52-6'er here.................it's there for the taking too.

other than the flea flicker hes not calling anything special...its just being executed to perfection......

It's being executed to perfection, but he's running a very balanced offense.

The screens to the TE are effective, and as another example, on the 1st and goal they had E James in the backfield with their blocking FB - and then they threw it to Fitz.

The packages the Cards are using are also screwing up the Eagles. And the plays are well designed.

What a great played first half by the Cards....only 2 mistakes so far.....the first KO out of bounds and the fumble after they intercepted the ball.

BTW, the ball looked to have touched the Eagle on his elbow, and so I think the refs made the correct call. If you look at the ball....it was pointed vertical and then it went horizontal. The ball isnt going to just turn 90 degrees and move sideways like that without being influenced. The returners elbow got enough of the ball to change its momentum and angle. I do feel that the NFL is stupid for now allowing that to be a reviewable play.

You are correct about not paying attention to who you were.

I apologize ..... was too busy arguing with others to even notice.

No worries. Let's just agree to disagree about that play and enjoy the current beatdown. :)

If that was the case then all you had to do is push the ball out of bounds nad you would be on the 40.....common sense isn't common...

Super Bowl XLIII will be Pittsburgh vs. Arizona. Something tells me that Flacco's solid first season comes to an end this afternoon :starspin

I used to post over there, but I quit a couple years ago. Not worth it.
It's funner just to watch them eat their young anyway!!

They just said the head referee stated "The Ball was not out of bounds"

That's right....but the player the ball touched was. The result would've stayed the same...unless Rogah is right about the kickoff rule.

I like that the Cards are designing their plays to go directly at the blitz. The blitz leaves a hole in the coverage and Warner has exploited it all first half.

That's BS - the play calling is keeping the Eagles clueless. I agree about it being executed to perfection, but the play mix is something the Eagles have not seen much of. Eagles not sure to call pass defense, blitz, run blitz, or 8 man on the LOS. Jim Johnson is so confused!

Easy, lets not confuse..... ;)

amazing what a competent offensive coordinator and qb can do to a blitz happy defense.
