My original post said L - Packers (possibly W, as they are on a 1-4 kick)
as I thought when I first wrote this, that might be are only loss, Lambeau field and all... then after doing more research on the Packers my conviction on that game grew stronger through last week's thread... so for the new thread "UPDATED - Likely outcomes"
I changed it to:
W - Packers (possibly L, but I doubt it as they are on a 2-4 kick - should be 1-5 if not for HAIL MARY)

Now I am realizing the moderators MERGED my two threads - last week's and this week's :-(
so the new thread no longer says UPDATED.

So which is it? Are you predicting a win or a loss? Not a possible W or a possible L. I just want to get your prediction nailed down.

That's great, but last week's "likely outcome" had the Cowboys, Eagles and Jets all losing.

No it didn't.

It had the Cowboys Winning AND
It had the Jets Winning

Only the Eagles lucky win was off... and if you say that wasn't lucky, you didn't watch the game

OK, to update my post from last week, I have updated my predictions below:
Am wondering if I will get more or less grief from Naysayers now that we have a win under our belts, and my prediction is on track (for the most part - the Eagles LUCKED out an improbable win over the Patriots, which proves the point that ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE NFL...) Don't give up!

Giants remaining schedule 2-2, 7-9 (8-8 at best if they luck out a win over Jets):
L - Jets (in the books, as predicted)
W- Dolphins
L - Panthers
L - Vikings
W - Eagles

Commanders remaining schedule 1-3, 6-10 (or if they pull out a win vs. Bears or Bills, 2-2, 7-9):
L - Cowboys (in the books, as predicted)
L - Bears
L - Bills
W - Eagles
L - Cowboys

Eagles remaining schedule 0-5, 4-12 (non-factor, even if they luck out 2 wins, they suck):
L - Patriots (OK - was a W, they won that one, but THEY SUCK - still say NON factor)
L - Bills
L - Cardinals
L - Commanders
L - Giants

Cowboys remaining schedule 4-0, 7-9 / 8-8:
W - Commanders :starspin: (in the books, as predicted)
W - Packers (possibly L, but I doubt it as they are on a 2-4 kick - should be 1-5 if not for HAIL MARY)
W - Jets - Jets and Bills are 2 average teams in the AFC, Cassel knows them well (playing for NE,
W - Bills - and he knows the Bills playbook ;)
W - Commanders (We can do it again, plus they are 0-5 on the road)

7-9 tie = we win (with 4-2 division record),
or 8-8 tie = we win (with 4-2 division record)
or 8-8 = win outright

This outcome is VERY feasible and is exactly what Sean Lee, Dez Bryant and the players are thinking right now.

NEVER Give Up!!

were you wearing these when you made this list and outcomes?

Not trying to be a buzzkill but if Vegas was taking bets on this scenario, you could make a small fortune winning with what those odds must be!! I love my Cowboys, eagerly watch them every week but that scenario playing out would translate to probably one the most epic turn of fortunes in NFL history.

The moderators just made this more confusing. The predictions and outcomes should be kept separate week to week, otherwise it just gets all muddled. Can we un-merge the two threads? or is it too late?
I think the word "likely" doesn't mean what you think it means.

It means exactly what I think it means:

like·ly
ˈlīklē/
adjective
  1. 1.
such as well might happen or be true; probable.
"the likely effects of the drought on sugar beet yields"
    synonyms:probable, distinctly possible, to be expected, odds-on, possible, plausible, imaginable;
    expected, anticipated, predictable, predicted,foreseeable;
    informal in the cards
"it seemed likely that the Cowboys would win IN Washington"

GB has not been playing all that great lately, even home games.
Yes they have incentive to win, to stay with the Vikings fighting for the division.

But we have more motivation. First we won and are one game out of first place also. So motivation to win to stay within the goal. We have motivation from last years game there. Not only does Dez play hard. The defense wants to show they can sack and pressure Rodgers, as that was just as of a big reason as the Dez cheated catch.

Eagles and Commanders are early, so they will know the outcome of those games. If they both lose, we win, then only thing left is for NY to lose Monday night.

This is doable. Not predicting a win. A blowout loss is even possible. But until we lose, I am going in thinking we can win this.
If Philly can neat NE on the road, we can beat GB on the road.

We are ONE game back of first place with 4 to go... trailing three 5-7 teams... EPIC?
Granted we are 4-8, but we have had things (Romo/Dez) to overcome that they haven't. Look what happened to the Patriots just losing Gronk... Boom - 2 straight losses. We lost Romo AND Dez. And are overcoming that now (see my other posts),

The Eagles Commanders and Giants schedules virtually guarantee we will win or be tied for the division lead going into week 17 if we can take care of our own business... we can even lose one of these games and still be tied (and win on tie-breaker), but I think we will run the table.

ok, I'm sold......taking the next flight to Vegas! :)

I sure hope Cassell decides to show up for the first 45 minutes of our remaining games, that will help. Go Cowboys!

Here is something else to look at.
If I got the tie breakers correct, if we win out, we win all the tiebreakers. But Eagles and Giants will need to drop a few games.
They play each other, so there is a loss for one of them. Based on conference and division wins, it is best if Giants win that game. But NY needs to drop another game.

If tied with any of the teams at 8-8, we get the tie breakers.
We would hold the tie breaker over Commanders by beating them twice.
We would hold the tie breaker by better divison record if NY beats Philly.

It is head to head, then divison, then common games, then conference records
We would be 4-2 in divison by winning out and being 8-8

Exactly!
... it gets a little murkier if we end up tied at 7-9, and depends who we are tied with.

for the 8-8, if we win out, it is virtually guaranteed. There is no way the Eagles beat the Cards, and there is no way the Giants beat the Panthers. And we would be beating the Skins to BE 8-8, so it is a virtual certainty (aside from any other losses they help us out with)

Now that Cassel has a win under his belt, and our fully loaded (very potent) offense is getting used to working with Cassel, AND our Defense is NOW ranked #5 in the NFL, my prediction of LIKELY outcome for our Cowboys is looking good so far... Beating Green Bay will go a LONG way to running the table. Actually I say we definitely run the table IF we beat GB.

I want to say I saw something in Cassel in the last two drives or so... Similar tomwhatvinsaw in Weeden EXCEPT when I saw it in Weeden it was off the bench. I believe vs Washington last year?

This is different, I hope... Cassel can win games... He has done it.

Did something register?
Does he feel more comfortable?

Imam leaning towards = YES

The likely outcome I was refering to was the majority opinion. Washington was definitely the pick.

And I disagreed... Cowboys were always my likely outcome (division rival, must win game). Was closer than I hoped, but I'll take it

Sounds great to me.
Agree, if we can beat GB, then we can run the table.
Eagles do it on STs and turnovers against NE. We may need that type of help to beat GB and another strong performance by the Defense. But it can be done.

But now waiting for the thread to be hijacked by the naysayers as usual.

Offense not exactly a powerhouse, but they can move the ball with Cassel. They just need to get TDs and not settle for FGs

I won't count on fat Mike calling a drop kick when ahead 14-0 like Darth Belichick did

I'm with ya 88! 81's got ya back! We can beat GB and I can't wait for kickoff. I wanna see Rodgers running for his life while Lacy has his frkn asthma.

If we can just find a way to 7-9 (and Romo can find a way back to the field ASAP) I like our chances.
