See how you continue to divert and tap dance all because you got caught with your pants down making ridiculous claims you can't prove because they don't exist. They're all figments of your imagination. If you were being truthful someone else would dig it up because there's a number of FANS here who dig through my posts like busy little beavers trying to find anything they can to prove me wrong on something. If you want to find where I've been wrong about the team all you have to do is go back to my archives from the summer of 2014 and it will be like standing in a field of dreams for you. I said the Cowboys won't make the playoffs this season pointing out all the reasons why and you turned that into me bashing the team and taking glee over their situation. LOL I made a few other comments that you twisted into me saying the Cowboys sucked last season.

This is all part of the agenda you signed on here with just over a year ago of questioning the fandom of longtime posters. The first encounter I had with you was you questioning my fandom. Just the other day you were questioning the fandom of someone it's a daily occurrence with you. All you do is fabricate and twist the comments of others to try and make it appear they hate the team and are just here posing as Cowboy fans. You can't even tell when someone is passionate about the team you construe it for hate because it's an agenda. I'm done wasting my time with you but I'm sure I won't be able to resist poking some fun at some of your absurd comments every now and then.

Demands specifics. Won't provide specifics. You're not very good at this, huh?

We will not get a WC, nor any team in the NFCE will. Unless some teams collapse and the East teams get hot. Most likely Vikings and Falcons lead that WC race, with Saints and Seahawks right behind them. But not concerend with that for this thread.
So looking at what needs to happen to win the East.

We are 2-5, and must beat Philly. We need to go 7-2 the rest of the way. even if we go 6-3 and finish 8-8. The other 3 teams need to drop 4 games.
If we can beat Eagles, and Commanders twice, we will a 5-1 Division record, and the tie breakers that way if we finish tied at 8-8 0r 9-7 with any team.

So looking ahead at the schedules. Can this happen?
Dallas - Eagles, at TB, Panthers, at Commanders, at GB, Jets, at Bills, Commanders.............need 6 wins, Eagles, Commanders 2 times, Bills, TB, Jets. Hopefully steal one from GB or Panthers
Giants - at TB, NE, at Commanders, Jets, at Miami, Panthers, at Vikings, Eagles....are there 4 losses in there, NE, Vikings, Panthers, then drop one against Eagles or Commanders or another team
Eagles - at Cowboys, Miami, TB, at Lions, at NE, Bills, Cardinals, Commanders, at Giants...are there 4 losses here, Cowboys, NE, Cardinals, drop one against Commanders or Giants or another team
Commanders - at NE, Saints, at Panthers, Giants, Cowboys, at Bears, Bills, at Eagles, at Cowboys...for sure 4 losses in there

So we have to be a game better than the Eagles and the Commanders, and with those games against them.
Giants must drop 2 games for us to catch them.
Then if all stays even, we will take the division.

However, that is much easier said than done, as Dallas has not proven it can win these next 2 games without Romo. Maybe Dez will have a better impact against the Eagles. I question why Butler was inactive, he could have been used to stretch the field, get Dez open underneath, or any player. Then Whitehead would not have had his penalty. More questionable player decisions by the coaching staff there.

Any way, that is a look ahead. What do you all think, is this possible, or wishful thinking [hopeful]. Probably a bit of both.

Butler is not a speedster. He is not able to stretch the field. Our deep threat is Williams.

Also you only listed 8 of our oponents. You forgot Miami.

Many are trying to find a positive to give them some hope for this season and the only positive is the Cowboys play in the NFC Least not the NFC Beast. It's a weak division but to take advantage of the struggles the rest of the teams are having the Cowboys need to make up some ground and it takes wins to do that. The team blew a great opportunity last week to make up some ground with the Giants losing. At some point someone in the division is going to get hot and start reeling off some wins and the Cowboys are going to be eating their dust if they don't win the next 2 games. Even a spilt the next 2 weeks will leave the Cowboys at 3-6 with the Packers still left on the schedule. The Cowboys would have to go 5-2 just to reach 8-8. This is the worst 7 game stretch the Cowboys have had since 2010.

They never lost more than 2 straight games in any of their three 8-8 seasons that shows just bad this season has been. You have to target 9 wins to have a realistic shot at the playoffs. Someone yesterday said the Cowboys could lose their next 2 games and still make the playoffs. Dream on! They would have to win out the rest of the way to have a realistic shot and not even last years team won 7 straight. The Giants are the team to worry about they lead the division and if they get Cruz back and JPP can still play at a high level with his hand they could get hot. I'm telling you they remind me of their 2011 team that was an uninspiring 7-7 at one point. I don't care how bad the Giants look some weeks you can never count them out.

To get 9 wins the Cowboys are going to have go 7-2 the rest of the way good luck with that based on the team they have that will still be without Romo the next 2 games. Last weeks loss to Seattle was the first nail in the Cowboys coffin and every loss from here on out will add another nail. The only glimmer of hope the team has is to win their next 2 games because Romo isn't going to be able to carry the Cowboys to 6-7 wins. If they can't beat Philly who's QB situation isn't much better than theirs then there will be no hope for the rest of this season. Once you've dug yourself a hole and begin losing to the only teams you beat all season you're done.

Why would any of these teams get hot and go on a run? They are bad teams. The Giants are 4-4 in the easy half of their schedule. The only team that really has a shot to get hot is Dallas because they are getting an MVP caliber player back.

right now only care about beating the Eagles. 2-5 teams rarely wind up going to the playoffs.

I read that only 3 times since the merger has a 2-5 team made the playoffs

If we lose to Philly and go 2-6, what are the odds then? Has a team ever made the playoffs with a 6 game losing streak?

If they're bad teams what does that say about the Cowboys who are sitting in the basement riding a 5 game losing streak? This is the worst team the Cowboys have had since 2010. None of their three 8-8 teams ever had as bad a first half of the season as this team is having or lost more than 2 straight games. Doubt you'll find a Cowboys team in the history of the franchise that had as bad a first half of the season as the Cowboys are having this year and ended up making the playoffs. If anyone is going to have to get hot it's the Cowboys. Getting HOT is the only chance they have to make the playoffs and they have to hope no one else especially the Giants gets on a 2-3 game run. Just because this is a weak division you can't rule out someone reeling off 2 or 3 in a row that will be enough to bury the Cowboys if they don't start winning some games. If the Cowboys get a split the next 2 weeks and so do the Giants no ground will be gained on them. At some point the Cowboys are going to have to win at least 3-4 in a row and hope the Giants start falling.

The Giants are on pace for an 8-8 season so 8 wins could win this division. JPP will be back possibly tomorrow and if they can ever get Cruz on the field that could spark them. They'll have a tough time getting past the Pats in week 10 but they have a 3 game stretch with the Commanders, Jets and Dolphins where they could put some wins together which means the Cowboys may have little to no margin for error at that point. Getting Romo back by the Miami game doesn't mean we can start marking down wins. He's not likely to be as sharp as usual and is going to have to work off some rust plus he won't be taking over the same undefeated team he left in week 2. We saw last week with Dez that he wasn't the same after all the time off so we can't expect Romo to pick up exactly where he left off in week 2. Let's face it he's going to have to carry this team because this Cowboys team hasn't won a game without him. Even the 2010 team won 5 games without him so it's pretty discouraging to see such a dramatic drop-off in the teams performance without Romo.

He carried the team to a win on opening day and the Cowboys aren't going to survive this season with him having to shoulder the load. Having to do that is what led to those 8-8 seasons and rough December's. He played well those seasons but the supporting cast around him didn't provide much help even Jerry admitted that. The current RB situation is the worst it's been since the days of Troy Hambrick and an aging Emmitt Smith. The entire backfield from last season is gone forcing the team to pick up a couple of scrubs during the season. A loss tomorrow will be a back breaker because it will add another loss and it will be our second divisional loss. A wildcard birth is out of the question with 4 conference losses and Seattle and NO holding tiebreakers and if 2 or 3 teams end up at 8-8 within the division tiebreakers will decide it so tomorrow is a must win if there's going to be any hope for this season. Philly is having their own QB issues so this is a very winnable game and a loss will add another nail to the Cowboys coffin.

We barely beat the Eagles with Romo, only scoring 2 TDs in the process. It is going to be difficult to beat them this time around. Their defense is stout against the run and they can generate turnovers. I have seen nothing from Cassel that tells me he can win a game in the NFL at this point in his career.

We beat the Eagles without Dez or Tony. We can do it again.

Romo threw 27 passes in the game against the Eagles.

I have an eerie calm about this game. I think we might as well just book it guys, we're going to win.

The Peters news is huge. Johnson is no scrub, but I don't know if he's played LT since college, and he's facing the best pass rusher he's ever faced. Hopefully Gregory's recovered enough to make an impact.

One thing's for certain, I don't think even the optimists (myself included) can sit here and pretend it's not going to take a miracle for us to make the playoffs if we lose tomorrow.

Hope the buccs beat the giants but I don't think they will. We'll see how much jpp can help the giants out now that he's playing.
