Yes but after the Landry era dies in 1986 Dallas only stunk for four years after that being 1987-1990.

1979-1985 and the injury to Danny White that doomed a promising 1986, Dallas was a contender all that while, Dallas is not contender in the modern era and has gone through five coaches in eleven years!

There's nothing convenient about it.

Twelves years is more than enough time for any competently-run franchise to win a few playoff games. In fact, it's enough time to rebuild a franchise multiple times over.

Falling just short of a Super Bowl win is one thing. A decade of organizational incompetence is something entirely different.

This is my point. No one predicted Dallas in Super Bowl before 2007 (well maybe not all). Alot of things came together and as is our current editon Cowboys, they choked it away. This year we are preseason favorites and we fall on our face. Blame what you want.

You may have a bit more patience than me. You have spent your adolescence without a playoff win as many have here. If and when the day comes again they can win it all, it WILL be your favorite moment as you would have waited for it practically your whole life.

I point you to the trades that have gutted drafts across the decade with exception of 2003,2005,2008 Dallas has drafted poorly, usually keeping no more than two players on average from their draft for over three seasons.

funny you say that, I remember thinking the same thing in 1993 when we were running up the score on Buffalo.

I sat there with my Cowboys cap on with a look of pure satisfaction thinking those five straight losing seasons from 86-90 were worth it for this feeling.

Although it seems the Cowboys' ability to draft talent has improved over the past few years, they've demonstrated little ability to build an actual team.

99.9% are idiots then. If our season doesn't end with another Lombardi it was a wasted season, no matter what the record was. No one ( Cowboy fans ) enjoy watching the team not getting in or advancing in the playoffs or to the Super Bowl but I can't see myself being HAPPY that we came in 2nd place. That's still the LOSER. If 99.9% would accept FAILURE, then they need to pursue another hobby.
