NFC Playoff wins since 1997 = 16

It's amazing too. We hired a guy, BP, who's had a ton of playoff victories, and he couldn't even get a single victory in two tries. I guess it's all Jerry's fault.

99.9% are idiots then. If our season doesn't end with another Lombardi it was a wasted season, no matter what the record was. No one ( Cowboy fans ) enjoy watching the team not getting in or advancing in the playoffs or to the Super Bowl but I can't see myself being HAPPY that we came in 2nd place. That's still the LOSER. If 99.9% would accept FAILURE, then they need to pursue another hobby.
No one is happy we lost. No one is accepting the loss, but most agree is better than being mediocre.

Exactly. Look I want to win in the playoff as much as the next person but I never would have thought I would see the day where winning a playing is such a big deal to Cowboy fans. What happened to winning the whole thing and not winning a playoff game to make people worry about it so much. Philly can winning 30 playoff games since 97 for all I care if they don't have Lombardi trophy at the end of the day who cares. Nobody is going to be going around counting how playoff games a team won but never achieved the ultimate goal. That's where it's at and what it is all about.

If you lose, you are a loser. There's no "better" option.

Including today's Eagles game.

Eagles = 9
Giants = 5
Commanders = 2
Cowboys = 0
It's even worse. The Giants have won 6 during that period.

And as someone else pointed out, those totals are guaranteed to increase next week.

Perhaps. However, there are teams that are closer to winning the Super Bowl than other teams.

Unfortunately, the Cowboys organization seems unable to build a team capable of winning even a single playoff game.

Dallas is worse than a loser, their luke warm and the fans are about ready to spit them from our mouth.

This is a good point.

Larry Cole, newly retired Cowboy defensive tackle, asked about the 11-year hiatus between his third and fourth NFL touchdowns: "Anyone can have an off decade."
:)

Ha i mentioned it earlier how pathetic it was that every team in our division has won a playoff game the last decade plus except us... and obviously either the winner of the Giants/Eagles will add another win. This is depressing we cant even get to the playoffs...

Closer to winning & winning are 2 different things. Those closer to winning end their season the same way we did ours. Losers.

If the Cowboys organization was able to build a team to win a SINGLE Playoff game & we lost the following week, we still sit through the off season knowing we won NOTHING. Sorry, I just can't get happy over "baby steps" when the ultimate GOAL is another Lombardi.

Similarly, winning in the playoffs and not winning in the playoffs are two different things.

Case in point: The Pittsburgh Steelers are obviously much closer to winning a Super Bowl than the Detroit Lions.

Actually, if the Cowboys had won a single playoff game, we would know that they're capable of at least winning in the playoffs. This knowledge would be preferable to our current knowledge.

& 1 loss puts them in the loser category of the season right along with the Lions so it means nothing.

It still ends in a loss so nothings learned & nothings gained. Plenty of teams have won Playoff games & a lot of them took that knowledge & still ended the season not the World Champions. That's the GOAL. Getting CLOSE is nothing to celebrate.

Dallas "won" a playoff game last year when they received a bye through the first round, per Wade.

Although teams have won in the playoffs without winning the Super Bowl, no team has won the Super Bowl without winning in the playoffs. Consequently, winning in the playoffs is necessary to reaching the ultimate goal.

Honestly, if you can't discern a difference between the Lions and Steelers, there's little point to this conversation.

The difference would be one won more games than the other POSSIBLY on the way to joining the other loser.

Actually, the difference is this: The Steelers have been a perennial contender in recent seasons, and have a Super Bowl victory within the past five years. Conversely, the Lions, like the Cowboys, have not won a playoff game within the past decade, and have no Super Bowls wins.

don't tell me what I'm to young for....how about you get over it and realize after the dynasty we have to rebuild.....in the past 12 years we went to playoffs what 3 o 4 times? Let's be realistic for half a second....

12 years is a long *** rebuild...

So basically what you're saying is if we can't win the Super Bowl every year, we might as well not even go to the playoff?

And, to further use your extreme example, we might as well go 0-16 because, in the final analysis, if we go 13-3 and don't go to the Super Bowl we're as much losers as the Lions.

Is this your position? :confused:

This is one of the dumber things said today. If you honestly think whichever team loses the Super Bowl will have the same outlook as the Detroit Lions, you are clinically ********.

Context matters.

P.S. And I see Tyke1 has the same thoughts - sometimes, one should undergo a thought exercise before opening ones mouth...
