it really sucks that we are now 8 and 1 and essentially only have a 1 game lead in the NFC East. Since the Giants hold the tiebreaker it is way too dicey for my taste.

We lose one and they win one would result in
8-2
7-3

Yeah our lead isn't great. The games late in the season might still matter.

Well, you have to read the entire first sentence of the original post. It sucks we only have a small lead even while being 8-1.

So a loss to the Ravens would put Dallas at 8-2. A Giants win would put them at 7-3. Check yo math.

Best way is just to beat the Giants in our 2nd match up. That will secure the East from them.

Dallas @ NY in December is going to be the biggest game of the year. It will determine our season. They are playing to their defense and are on a roll just like we are.

The winner will win the east and get a bye, the loser is going to get sent to atlanta or detroit or wherever.

Dallas needs to hold serve against baltimore and find a way vs washington. The giants have the bears and browns. so they are headed to 8-3.

The season has been incredible but this perpetual thorn in our side in NY is sitting right there to ruin it all.

We're guaranteed #1 seed in NFC if we only lose once out of the remaining 7 games, because we'd be 14-2 and every team has 3 losses except Seattle who has 2 losses and a tie, but they can only get to 13-2-1. With two losses only Giants or Seahawks can take #1 seed from us.

Yeah I don't think people realize how up in the air this still is. All this talk of the 1 seed and home field is premature.

I feel the same way. Any other year and this division would already be just about won. I do feel like the Giants are the only real competition for the East crown barring a meltdown but had the Bengals won last night I would feel like it is over.

As it is we still have to go to NY to face the Giants and the rest of the games are not gimme's either.

Nothing has been won yet.

If our defense can just hold up until Church and Mo come back, I think we will be good.

Offense doesn't concern me at all. No way Seattle and NYG are winning out, so if we can just win 5 of our remaining games, it doesn't matter who we lose to. 13-3, we will be the #1 seed. Any less, we better beat NYG in December

Even if we lost 3 games Giants have to go 6-1 and beat us when we play again, I'm not sure who would win the tiebreaker if we beat them and it's the only game they lose but I'd say that's unlikely to happen as well. If they go 5-2 we'd have to go 3-4 and they beat us in December. It's looking very good for us other than a pretty big meltdown and Giants or Seahawks catching fire. Some other teams can catch us with 3 losses but they have to win out.

i'll take a two game lead on a division any day. if we keep playing the way we are we are fine. either way we only need 2 more wins to get 10 and 3 to get to 11. lets say giants win out and somehow surpass us, chances are we still make the wild card with 11-5. one game at a time.
