Is Collins the answer if Brunell's knees give out?

Not sure...Collins can throw the deep ball well, with those WR's...it could be a fit. He simply was not getting it done in OAK...so I'm not sure how to read him this late in his career.

Mould would be a reasonable stopgap solution.

However, with the Eagles available cap space and glaring need at WR this should be the #1 priority for the franchise. I was a strong proponent of Dallas making the trade for him and releasing Keyshawn but JJ and BP decided to bring in TO instead.

I hear you Eskimo ...but what can I say?!

I do think that the Eagles need either Moulds or Walker. I think they should go for Walker just because he's younger and maybe still hitting his prime. Moulds is going downhill. If the Eagles can pull off a deal for Walker, they could be dangerous. The NFCE is going to be very interesting and competitive.

quote=Eskimo]I think to rank the WRs (based purely on receiving skills) individually may be more instructive
#1 TO
#2 Moss
#3 Terry Glenn
#4 Plaxico
#5 Toomer
#6 Brown
#7 Randle-El
#8 Gaffney

I could Be wrong (I've been wrong before):

#1 TO
#2 Moss/Plaxico
#3 Toomer
#4 Randle El/Glenn
#5 Brown/Gaffney

That looks about right. Pretty fair list.

Your words make sense. Just don't want the window of opportunity to close on Moulds before we get a shot -- that said, Walker may be the best target.

Do you think Dallas' OL is ready to stop the NFCE Defensive Ends?

If we are talking pure receiving skills that's to low for Glenn...he's there with Moss. He potentially has the best hands in the bunch.

Overall...I still put him maybe one notch below Moss...he's very underrated.

As of right now, I'm not too confident in our O-line. It's gonna be tough stopping the likes of Strahan and Kearse. Hopefully our new additions can hold their own on the line. It hurts that we lost Larry Allen, but with Flozell returning, you never know.

Look, I'm changing it only because you are in a position to know Glenn's capabilities ..I'll have to take your word for it. But here's a question ...if KeShawn had made it clear that he was willing to play on the same team as TO ...HERE IT COMES ...would Cowboy GM have released Glenn?

I'm say yes! If Not ...explain!

You'll feel Allen's loss, but you may pick up some decent draft choices. Otherwise Parcell will have to use some traps, and plenty of screen passes against the Giants and Eagles. What about the Skins ...that's going to be the rival game of the year! Dang, I can't wait!

No, because Glenn is a much better WR at this stage than Keyshawn is. Keyshawn is a bit like the garbage man who does a lot of dirty work for you in an unspectacular fashion. He would not have been able to take advantage of the 1-on-1 matchups that having TO on the other side necessitates.

TO + Glenn > TO + Keyshawn > Keyshawn + Glenn

Sure, I'm an Eagles fan ...but I've followed KeShawn through the years. He's not the slouch that you portray him to be. Give this guy some credit! If Keyshawn lined up with TO on the other end, Bledsoe would have a a conflict debating which receiver to hit!

I'm not sure, and I really don't feel like going back through some archives, but I believe there were plenty of Cowboy fans hoping that KeShawn would have remained on the roster when TO was signed (I could be wrong ...I've be wrong before).

No...Glenn stayed no matter what. He was the best WR when Key was here.

Glenn is a speed guy with great hands and runs great routes. He's our biggest threat on the field. Key was a known threat....tough over the middle and goal line...that blocks well. Not a homerun threat that Glenn is.

I hate TO........BUT, TO and Glenn together will be awesome if he keeps his trap shut and plays. In all honestly I expect this year to be Glenns best year if he stays healthy.

Trade talks regarding Moulds heating up

By John Clayton
ESPN.com

Talks between the Bills and two teams are heating up to a point that an Eric Moulds trade could happen as early as Thursday.

The Texans and Eagles appear to have the lead and both teams are expecting quick decisions.
Bills general manager Marv Levy has talked with Moulds and even though he wants him to take a pay cut and stay, he's willing to part ways with the wide receiver in a trade.
Moulds will have to restructure his contract for the new teams and that doesn't appear to be a problem. He will probably make about $8 million over the first two years of a new deal, similar to what Keyshawn Johnson received from the Carolina Panthers.

Ok.

I like your honesty ...just curious, where would you place Moulds/Walker on that WR list depicted earlier in this thread?

1. TO (closed/locked)
2.
3.
4.
5.

Call it!

Now see, some of the Commanders people on this forum should look at this thread as an example... Talon is acting like an opposing teams fan should on this board. He is debating the rules without slandering players etc. I only wish some of the other NFCE fans would act the same.

I would not agree with this.

Moss had a good season last year, as did Burress but I don't know that I would consider either better then Glenn. Toomer, IMO, is not even in the running and while Randle El is an exciting player, he's not the WR threat some of these others are, at this point.

Consider, Moss I view as a vertical threat, for the most part. I think he has improved in his route running ability but I wouldn't call him exceptional in this part of his game. Burress uses his size well and catches balls but he's also not a great route runner IMO. Consider, Moss was the #1 option by a wide margin in Wash. More opportunities to catch balls if you will. In Washington there was Moss with 84 catches for 1483 and 9 TDs but that was it. Next best WR was Thrash with 14 catches/194 yards, 0 TDs. Cooley (71 catches, 774 yards and 7 TDs) was the only other real option. You look at Burress and he did do a nice job with 76 catches, 1214 yards and 7 TDs but I don't think he's as skilled a WR as Glenn is. 14 more catches, 78 more yards then Glenn. I will say that he did play in a more balanced offense then did Moss but certainly not a more balanced offense then Glenn. Toomer, while a decent WR, does not belong in this discussion IMO. 60 Catches last year for 684 yards and 7 TDs, a nice year but not enough to say he's better then Glenn. The year prior to, his numbers were about the same. More yards but not as many catches or TDs. On the other hand, you look at what Glenn did last year and you context it with the fact that KJ caught 71 balls for 839 yards, 6 TDs. Throw in Witten and I think you have to say that Glenn deserves much more credit then 4th or 5th on this list. Moss, IMO, had better stats but not as much productivity given the situation. Burress had like productivity in a like offense. He had a WR on the other side who caught some balls, he had a TE who was very productive and a running game, just like Glenn did but he was also the #1 WR in his offense. Glenn was not the primary guy, IMO, in our offense. I think that was KJ last year. Add to the fact that if you break down Burress and Glenn, I think you have to say that Glenn is the faster, quicker player. He's a better deep threat and he runs better routes. Also, has better hands IMO. Burress is the bigger stronger player. Overall, I think Glenn is better.

I'd say he's probably the 2nd best WR in the NFC right now, just behind TO.

However, I'm willing to listen to arguments on it.

Thanks. No need to slander to agree/disagree. However, I carry an extra pair of thick skin ...just in case;)
