I think he means a disaster as far as less viewers. And I suspect he’ll be right about losing viewers from Direct TV to YouTube .

I’ve been with Direct TV since it’s inception over 25 years ago and was offered Sunday Ticket free as a loyalty to stay on about every other year or so. And since I have AT&T I get unlimited data watching DirectTV on any device. It’s awesome everywhere I go. !!

I even passed on Prime . But I am getting my free month so I can watch the Cowboys game next Thursday. Besides a few cool documentaries and a couple current movies don’t see much else there that interest me . Netflix is all I subscribe to and just begun it during Covid .

Direct TV has all of the College Fox channels too. And has all of the good movie channels like HBO& Showtime . And I have it wired on multiple TV’s not only in game room but throughout the house.

I just won’t watch as many NFL games anymore. Saturday is my more enjoyable day anyway. I’m fine with it. I get the game I want on Sundays anyway.

AT&T ruined directv. Directv will be out of business within 5 years.

Not sure but they HAVE to charge customers at least the same amount as DirecTV, can't be cheaper.....NFL mandatory. It's the reason Apple dropped out.....they wanted to offer to customers for less but NFL would not allow it. They are concerned about other networks losing viewership. So my guess is the cost will be the same or slightly more BUT way more flexible viewing options/packages.
NFL Sunday Ticket has been free the last 3 or 4 years for me. Not sure why. Prior years I paid quite a bit for it.

I was hoping for Amazon. Because I already have Amazon Prime, and I'm not getting you tube TV. I'll just hope they let us buy individual weeks.

I guess I’m one of the few who love the AT&T merger. But I wouldn’t be surprised if these satellite providers do go out of business.

The Direct TV Ap is awesome with my AT&T iPhone coverage cause there are places I’m at sometimes with no WiFi and they don’t use my Data with Direct TV. I’m on an old plan with AT&T since I’ve had service with them since like the 90’s. Grandfathered in at $59.99 a month. And that just recently went up during Covid. Was $39.99 a month for years. Lol

Directv should go out of business. What's the appeal for a sports fan?
Well, cause they have the MLB ticket, NCAA ticket and NBA. Plus all of the Fox Sports networks for College sports.

If you have multi sets set up it’s easier to get a receiver with multiple Genies for each one so you can watch multiple games on different TV’s on one receiver.

Probably why they are going to have a separate package or steaming arrangement for sports bars.

I like this, YouTube TV has been awesome since I finally cut the cord this past Feb......I can watch TV just like I do at home, anywhere I'm at with my phone or laptop. Yet to have any streaming issues either, always smooth sailing.

Having said all that, I probably wont get Sunday ticket, I hardly watch the games start to finish anymore as it is, and NFL Redzone works just as well for only $10/MO. But it'll be nice to know I can get it if I want it, and Im definitely glad Apple didnt get it!

I've never bought an Apple product in my life, mainly because there was no reason to do so. But I'm not glad Apple didn't get it mainly because they wanted to provide the service cheaper.

Keep in mind they are paying 2.5 billion for this. They have to make in excess of that amount to make any money off of this. That was their way of doing it. Not be told they have to charge a certain amount due to viewership concerns for someone else after paying 2.5 billion.

It's the concept of charging 2 dollars for a cup of coffee instead of 10 dollars. You'll make more money charging 2. I have a feeling this new deal is still going to be limited to the die hard NFL fanatics.

I didnt know it was a disaster. Ive had zero issues with Amazon's games.
The ratings have been abysmal

While streaming may be very good quality these days, it’s still just not the same as turning the tv on and flipping the channel to check out the game. And it’s definitely a pain to flip back and forth between games. It’s just not as smooth as regular tv viewing. You have to actually seek it out and set it up for streaming. And for some people that’s too much of an aggravation

I grab the remote, push a button and say "Amazon Prime." Wala, the game is on and the picture quality is the exact same as broadcast TV. Ratings stink? Maybe, but the actual teams that they got handed to them was a joke.

The whole thing is getting ridiculous. I get that television, which I never watch, is evolving and changing. But the NFL can't make up their minds, and placing the profit burden on the consumer rather than the advertisers who want to reach the consumer, which was the old model, unless you wanted to watch games out of your region.

I'd question the caliber of women you are getting at $400.

Well . . . if he's paying for it. Says all you need to know....

Really really wish they would have a service that offers you a "pay per view" kind of deal. I wouldn't mind paying 40-50 bucks for each game I watch as I only miss out on about 3 games a year here.

Get FuboTV, for 69.99 a month, then go to cancel it after about a month or two, and they will give you a 66 percent discount.. You end up paying less than 30 a month, which is much less than your pay-per-view type deals.
